The upcoming Serie A match between Juventus and Napoli is anticipated to be closely contested, with a defensive outlook likely. Juventus have maintained low-scoring games in their recent fixtures, making under 2.5 goals a strategic prediction. Despite Napoli’s dominant history against Juventus, recent form suggests a balanced game with both teams showcasing resilience. Juventus comes in with a solid record at home, while Napoli maintains an unbeaten streak. With important players missing on both sides, a draw could also be a possible outcome.

Juventus vs Napoli Predictions

Sunday's Serie A fixture is usually a tight one, and I expect another hard-fought encounter in Turin. Under 2.5 goals is my best bet at the Allianz Stadium.

Tight Contest Likely

  • Juventus have seen under 2.5 goals in 4 of their last 6 matches
  • Juventus have drawn 6 of their last 15 home matches
  • Juventus have seen under 2.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 home matches against Napoli
  • Napoli have drawn 4 of their last 5 matches
  • Napoli have seen under 2.5 goals in 12 of their last 15 matches

Napoli Dominate Recent H2H

Juventus and Napoli have met on 14 occasions since 2020. Napoli won eight matches, while Juventus picked up three victories. The Neapolitans picked up a goalless draw on their last visit to Turin in 2024.

Juventus See-Off Benfica

Juventus warmed up for Sunday's crucial Serie A contest with a relatively comfortable 2-0 Champions League win against Benfica on Wednesday. Second-half goals from Khephren Thuram and Weston McKennie secured another home win for Luciano Spalletti's side.

I Bianconeri enjoyed an impressive seven-game unbeaten run before a shock 1-0 defeat at Cagliari in their most recent Serie A fixture last weekend.

Solid in Turin, Juventus remain unbeaten in 15 competitive home fixtures this season. Spalletti's men won nine and drew six of those games.

Napoli Held in Denmark

Napoli make the trip to Turin after a frustrating 1-1 draw against Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday. Scott McTominay opened the scoring before the Danes - reduced to ten men in the second period - fought back with Jordan Larsson securing a precious point at Parken.

Despite a severe injury crisis, Gli Azzurri have demonstrated considerable resilience in recent weeks. The Serie A champions are unbeaten in nine games played since December. Seven of those matches finished with under 2.5 goals scored, while four of their five most recent matches finished deadlocked.

Low-scoring outcomes have been frequent in Napoli's away fixtures this season. An average of just over two goals was scored in 11 Serie A road games since August.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Juventus (4-2-3-1) Mattia Perin; Pierre Kalulu, Gleison Bremer, Lloyd Kelly, Andrea Cambiaso; Manuel Locatelli, Teun Koopmeiners; Weston McKennie, Fabio Miretti, Kenan Yildiz; Jonathan David.

Juventus boss Spalletti is likely to retain confidence in the same side that eased past Benfica earlier this week. The hosts have three players likely to miss out, with the injured trio Daniele Rugani, Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik still unavailable.

Napoli (3-4-2-1) Vanja Milinkovic-Savic; Sam Beukema, Alessandro Buongiorno, Juan Jesus; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Stanislav Lobotka, Scott McTominay, Leonardo Spinazzola; Antonio Vergara, Eljif Elmas; Rasmus Hoejlund.

Antonio Conte has several absentees again this weekend. Kevin De Bruyne, David Neres, Frank Anguissa, Billy Gilmour, Alex Meret, Amir Rrahmani and Matteo Politano remain sidelined.

Romelu Lukaku is available after he made his return from a lengthy layoff as an unused substitute against Copenhagen.

Verdict

Defences could be on top in a potentially cagey affair in Turin. Under 2.5 goals is my best bet, with a second stake placed on a draw at the Allianz Stadium.
