Meanwhile, Genoa is on a positive run and hopes to avoid defeat, continuing a streak of unbeaten matches. Historically, Lazio dominates head-to-head matchups but currently under pressure to improve their form at home. Look for under 2.5 goals and Genoa to perform well in this fixture.

Lazio vs Genoa Predictions

Both teams lack attacking quality, and that should lead to a low-scoring encounter in Rome. Under 2.5 goals is my first pick, while I also fancy Genoa to avoid defeat on Friday.

Lazio and Genoa have met on 12 occasions since 2020. Lazio won nine games while Genoa claimed two victories. 

Lazo Held at Lecce

Lazio come into Friday's Serie A fixture after a goalless draw against Lecce last weekend. A lacklustre Lazio attack registered an XG of just 0.39 in a dour contest at Via del Mare.

Maurizio Sarri's side have endured a poor run of form in the past month. I Biancocelesti picked up just seven points from their last seven Serie A fixtures (W1, D4, L2). Lazio now find themselves down in ninth place. 

Sarri's men have been especially poor in recent matches at the Olimpico. I Biancocelesti failed to win each of their last five home fixtures, with just three goals scored in those contests. 

Genoa Extend Unbeaten Run

Genoa make the trip to Rome after a remarkable 3-2 win against Bologna last weekend. After falling two goals down, the Griffin showed tremendous courage to fight back with Junior Messias stoppage-time goal, securing a massive three points for Daniele De Rossi's side. 

After a poor start to the season, Genoa have picked up some form in the past couple of months. The hosts won five and lost only three of their last 13 Serie A fixtures. They had failed to win any of their first nine league games of the season. 

On the road, De Rossi's men secured a 0-0 in their most recent away fixture at Parma, while they also claimed a 1-1 draw at AC Milan earlier this month. 

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Lazio (4-3-3) Ivan Provedel; Manuel Lazzari, Mario Gila, Alessio Romagnoli, Adam Marusic; Toma Basic, Matias Vecino, Kenneth Taylor; Matteo Cancellieri, Boulaye Dia, Mattia Zaccagni.

Head coach Sarri has three expected absentees this week. Samuel Gigot, Nicolo Rovella and Patric are all ruled out through injury.

Genoa (3-5-2) Justin Bijlow; Alessandro Marcandalli, Sebastian Otoa, Johan Vasquez; Brooke Norton-Cuffy, Vitinha, Morten Frendrup, Mikael Egill Ellertsson, Aaron Martin Caricol; Jeff Ekhator, Lorenzo Colombo.

Genoa boss De Rossi could have three players unavailable for the trip to Rome. Albert Gronbaek and Benjamin Siegrist are ruled out, while Tommaso Baldanzi is rated doubtful.

Verdict

A tight contest seems likely, with Genoa capable of securing a positive result in Rome. Under 2.5 goals is my first pick, with my second stake placed on the visitors to win or draw.
