Rangers vs Dundee Predictions & Tips - Win to Nil Tipped in Premiership

Rangers are entering their match against Dundee in excellent form, having won their last seven matches while maintaining a strong defensive record. Historically, Rangers have dominated their encounters against Dundee, winning 12 of 15 matches since 2020. While Dundee has shown recent improvement, winning four of their last five games, they struggle on the road. With a tough away record, they face a formidable challenge at Ibrox this weekend. The predicted line-ups suggest few changes for both teams, with Rangers debuting new signings and Dundee coping with potential injuries.

Rangers vs Dundee Predictions

A rapidly improving Rangers have plenty of momentum and should keep another clean sheet in another comfortable win at Ibrox. I'm backing a home win-to-nil on Sunday.

Rangers Strong at the Back

  • Rangers won their last 7 matches
  • Rangers kept a clean sheet in their last 4 matches
  • Rangers won 5 of their last 7 matches against Dundee
  • Dundee failed to score in 3 of their last 4 defeats against Rangers
  • Dundee lost 7 of their last 11 away matches (Premiership)
  • Dundee failed to score in 6 of their last 7 defeats

Rangers Dominate Dundee in H2H Record

Rangers and Dundee have met on 15 occasions since 2020. Rangers won 12 of those games, while three matches finished level. Dundee have not beaten Rangers since 2017.

Rangers Maintain Winning Formula

Rangers return to Ibrox three days on from a well-deserved 1-0 against Ludogorets in Thursday's Europa League clash in Glasgow. Mohamad Diomande's first-half goal proved the difference, as the Gers claimed a first Europa League victory of the season.

Danny Rohl's side have now won their last seven matches, keeping clean sheets in each of their four most recent victories. In possession of the best defensive record in Scotland, Rangers conceded just one goal in their last five Premiership games at Ibrox.

Particularly solid in Glasgow, Rohl's men picked up the points in their last four home league fixtures. Twenty-two games into the Premiership season, the Gers sit third in the division, six points behind league leaders Hearts.

Dundee Continue Improved Form

Dundee make the trip to Glasgow after a dramatic come-from-behind Scottish Cup win at Kilmarnock last weekend. Drey Wright's stoppage-time goal secured a 2-1 victory in a fiery contest that saw the hosts reduced to nine men.

The Dark Blues have been in excellent form since Christmas, with four wins picked up from five games played in the past month. Despite their recent uptick in performance, Steven Pressley's side remain ninth in the Premiership, but now eight points clear of the relegation playoff position.

A poor away record remains a big issue for Pressley's men. Dundee lost seven and won just one 11 away Premiership games this season. On the road, the Dark Blues failed to score in seven of their last ten league fixtures, but did net in a surprise 1-1 draw at Ibrox last August.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Rangers (4-3-3) Jack Butland; James Tavernier, Emmanuel Fernandez, Nasser Djiga, Jayden Meghoma; Mohamed Diomande, Nicolas Raskin, Thelo Aasgaard; Djeidi Gassama, Youssef Chermiti, Andres Skov Olsen.

Head coach Rohl has a handful of absentees this weekend. John Souttar, Connor Barron, Tuur Rommens, Dujon Sterling, Derek Cornelius and Nedim Bajrami remain sidelined with various injury issues.

January signings, Tochi Chukwuani and Andres Skov Olsen, are likely to make their Premiership debuts this weekend.

Dundee (4-2-3-1) Jon McCracken; Ryan Astley, Luke Graham, Clark Robertson, Drey Wright; Ethan Hamilton, Callum Jones; Cameron Congreve, Yan Dhanda, Tony Yogane; Ashley Hay.

Dundee boss Pressley could be forced into at least one alteration to his first XI at Ibrox. Billy Koumetio could miss out after he was withdrawn just 16 minutes into the win at Kilmarnock. Clark Robertson is set to deputise in the Dundee defence.

Joe Westley is the only other reported injury issue for the visitors.

Verdict

An in-form Rangers should have enough momentum to claim a straightforward win at Ibrox this weekend. I'm backing the hosts to win to nil on Sunday.
