Rangers vs Ludogorets Predictions & Tips - Gers Backed in Europa League

Rangers are positioned for their first Europa League win of the season, leveraging strong home momentum. Following a decisive victory over Annan Athletic, Rangers have been on an impressive winning streak at Ibrox. Meanwhile, Ludogorets have consistently been involved in high-scoring matches but struggle to perform away from home in the Europa League. This fixture at Ibrox Stadium will be the first h2h meeting between the two teams, and a high-scoring affair is anticipated. Key players for Rangers include Bojan Mikovski after his recent hat-trick, while Ludogorets aims to overcome their European away woes.

Rangers vs Ludogorets Predictions

An in-form Rangers look transformed, and they should have enough momentum to claim a first Europa League win of the season. A home win is my best bet, while I also expect at least three goals scored in Glasgow.

Rangers on a Rohl

  • Rangers won their last 6 matches
  • Rangers won their last 4 home matches
  • Rangers have seen over 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 5 matches
  • Ludogorets lost their last 2 away matches (Europa League)
  • Ludogorets have seen over 3.5 goals in their last 4 matches (Europa League)

H2H Record

Rangers and Ludogorets will meet for the first time at Ibrox Stadium.

Rangers Maintain Winning Formula

Rangers turn their attention to Europa League business after an easy 5-0 win against Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup last Friday. Bojan Miovski helped himself to a hat-trick as the Gers eased past their lower-league opponents at Ibrox.

Danny Rohl's much-improved side have now claimed victories in each of their last six matches, while they have lost just two of 15 previous matches across all competitions. Strong at Ibrox, Rangers bagged wins in each of their last four games in Glasgow.

Already out of qualification contention in the Europa League, the Gers sit 33rd in the 36-team league, with just one point picked up from six games.

Ludogorets Face First Competitive Game in 2026

Ludogorets prepare for their first fixture of the new year after a 2-2 draw with Polish side Rakow in a friendly last week. Three days earlier, the Bulgarians also claimed a 3-2 victory over Paks in their opening game of 2026.

High-scoring outcomes have been a recurring theme for the Eagles. At least four goals were scored in their last five games, and in each of their four previous Europa League fixtures. Still in contention to qualify for the next phase of this competition, Ludogorets sit 23rd in the standings with seven points, level with Rangers' old rivals Celtic.

On the road, Per Mathias Hogmo's side have a poor record in this competition, both this season and in recent years. Ludogorets failed to win eight of nine previous away Europa League games, including back-to-back reversals against Ferencvaros (3-1) and Young Boys (3-2) this season.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

Rangers (4-3-3) Jack Butland; James Tavernier, Emmanuel Fernandez, John Souttar, Jayden Meghoma; Mohamed Diomande, Nicolas Raskin, Thelo Aasgaard; Djeidi Gassama, Bojan Mikovski, Mikey Moore.

Rangers boss Rohl is unable to call on several first-team players. January signings Tuur Rommens, Tochi Chukwuani and Andres Skov Olsen are ineligible, while Connor Barron, Dujon Sterling, Derek Cornelius and Nedim Bajrami remain sidelined with various injury issues.

North Macedonian forward Bojan Mikovski could keep his place in the first XI after Friday's hat-trick against Annan.

Ludogorets (4-3-3) Hendrik Bonmann; Francisco Son, Olivier Verdon, Dinis Almeida, Anton Nedyalkov; Filip Kaloc, Petar Stanic, Deroy Duarte; Caio Vidal, Yves Erick Bile, Bernard Tekpete.

Head coach Hogmo has a few absentees to deal with this week. Edvin Kurtulus, Georgi Terziev and Aguibou Camara remain sidelined for the visitors.

Verdict

Rangers have the momentum to finally break their Europa League duck this season. I fancy the Gers to claim victory in a potentially high-scoring contest in Glasgow.
