Rayo Vallecano are coming off a historic success, beating Strasbourg 1-0 (2-0 on aggregate) in mid-week to advance to the Conference League grand finals, Alemao scoring on both occasions. 

The Red Sashes are not having a great run in La Liga though, sitting in 11th place with 42 points after 34 rounds, just six points above the relegation zone, but recent form has been solid. 

After wrapping up the previous month with a 3-3 draw against Real Sociedad, Rayo defeated Getafe 2-0 on the road last weekend but this was far from smooth win, ending the clash with 0.98-1.48 xG and 10-13 shots. 

Girona’s Strikers Struggling to Convert 


After securing just one point in the last four La Liga rounds, Girona are in serious relegation danger, occupying 16th place just two points above the red zone. 

After snatching a massive point against Real Madrid 1-1 at Bernabeu in mid-April, their defense looked poor in back to back defeats against Real Betis 3-2 and Valencia 2-1. Interestingly, they had higher xG in both of these losses. 

Last weekend, Michel’s side hosted Mallorca, created six goal opportunities and posted 1.75 xG yet shockingly lost the encounter 1-0.
