Roma Fighting for Top Four


Roma began April with a heavy 5-2 defeat at Inter Milan that dented their top four aspirations in Serie A. Donyell Malen then hit a hat-trick in a 3-0 victory over Pisa.

The capital club had 19-8 shots in a 1-1 draw against Atalanta. Mario Hermoso hit the woodwork in the second half as they ended with 9-2 shots on target.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side won 2-0 at Bologna last time out, Malen opening the scoring and assisting Neil El Aynaoui. Roma had 2.13-0.50 xG despite enjoying 40% possession.

Fiorentina Almost Safe


Fiorentina have lost once in their previous 11 matches, a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in the Conference League quarter-final first leg. They won 2-1 at home but the damage was done.

The Tuscany club drew 1-1 at lowly Lecce in their last away game. They managed just five shots, Jack Harrison opening the scoring in the first half.

I Viola drew 0-0 against Sassuolo last time out. Paolo Vanoli’s side had 22-11 shots including 1.94-0.88 xG, the point taking Fiorentina nine points clear of the relegation zone with four games to go.

Strikers Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson remain out. Lorenzo Pellegrini is battling a hamstring injury and Paulo Dybala is not ready to fir which could see Robinio Vaz start here.
