South Africa vs Cameroon Betting Tips & Live Stream - South Africa to advance against Cameroon at AFCON

Hugo Broos, leading South Africa, faces off against his former team, Cameroon, in AFCON with expectations of reaching the quarterfinals. South Africa boasts a strong track record, winning 5 of their last 6 matches and remaining unbeaten in 23 of their last 24 games. Conversely, Cameroon has struggled against South Africa, failing to achieve a win in their last five meetings. Besides, South Africa aims to capitalize on Cameroon's defensive vulnerabilities, particularly through experienced players. As both teams prepare for a decisive match, South Africa remains vigilant about maintaining strategic performance.

Key Stats - Unbeaten Run for Bafana Bafana

  • South Africa have won 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • South Africa are undefeated in 23 of their last 24 matches (excludes B squad internationals).
  • Cameroon have seen BTTS No in 6 of their last 8 matches.
  • Cameroon are winless in 5 matches vs South Africa (2 losses).

Cameroon Winless in Five against South Africa

In five matches, South Africa have won two and Cameroon zero. There have been three draws with their last meeting in 2016 ending goalless.

South Africa Tough to Beat

South Africa’s last 25 matches have seen just one defeat. They finished second in Group B after taking six points.

Bafana Bafana beat Zambia 3-1 and Ghana 1-0 in two pre-AFCON friendlies. They began this tournament with a 2-1 win over Angola.

A 1-0 loss followed to ten-man Egypt despite producing 18 shots. Their third group match saw a 3-2 win over Zimbabwe in a leaky defensive display.

Cameroon Fluent at AFCON

Cameroon failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup later this year. They reached the last-16 of this AFCON with seven points in three Group F fixtures.

The Indomitable Lions finished behind Cape Verde in World Cup qualifying. They lost 1-0 to DR Congo in a playoff match.

This tournament began with a 1-0 win over Gabon and a 1-1 draw vs Ivory Coast. They beat Mozambique 2-1 with 19 shots and 2.35 xG produced.

South Africa vs Cameroon Predicted Lineups & Team News

South Africa (4-5-1): Williams; Mudau, Ngezana, Mbokazi, Modiba; Aubaas, Mokoena; Appollis, Mbule, Moremi; Foster.

Coach Hugo Broos could hand Bathusi Aubaas a start in midfield. Sphephelo Sithole struggled in midfield in the last match.

The rest of the XI could be unchanged. The Belgian coach may be tempted to use a back three to match up to Cameroon.

Cameroon (3-5-2): Epassy; Boyomo, Nyamsi, Tolo; Tchamadeu, Avom, Baleba, Yongwa; Mbeumo, Kofame.

Coach David Pagou is set to stick with his back three formation. Bryan Mbeumo is expected to move into the attack, with Stoke City right wingback Junior Tchamadeu back from suspension.

Centre back Nouhou Tolo should shake off a knock to captain the side.

Verdict

I see BTTS No in a tight match. South Africa are backed to win.
