Sydney Olympic vs Brisbane Roar Betting Tips & Live Stream - Roar to avoid upset in Australia Cup
Brisbane Roar are expected to progress in the Australia Cup, facing a struggling Sydney Olympic side. Despite Brisbane’s disappointing end to their A-League season, their recent friendly wins provide optimism. Sydney Olympic sit last in the NPL NSW, having only won five times all season. Still, both teams have a tendency to score, making BTTS a strong prediction. The key tip is for Brisbane Roar to win with both teams finding the net, avoiding a cup upset and moving into the Round of 16.

Sydney Olympic vs Brisbane Roar Verdict
Despite their own troubles in the A-League, Brisbane Roar are backed to avoid an Australia Cup upset by beating struggling NPL NSW side Sydney Olympic. I'm backing the hosts to score though, making BTTS value.
- Olympic have never beaten an A-League club in the Australia Cup
- Olympic have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 9 games
- Olympic have failed to win 20 of their 25 NPL games this season
- Roar have only suffered one defeat to an NPL club (Sydney United in 2022 semi-finals)
- Roar have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 competitive games
Sydney Olympic Form - Woeful NPL NSW Run
It's been a dreadful season for Olympic in the NPL NSW and they're in very real danger of finishing bottom of the pile.
Olympic are in 16th and last spot on the ladder after 25 games, managing just five wins - although two of those have come in their last five games.
Michael Melito has taken over as interim head coach, with his side registering wins over St George Saints (2-1) and Wollongong Wolves (3-2), but were crushed 4-0 by Manly United in their most recent outing.
Brisbane Roar Form - Friendly Wins Give Hope
It was another disappointing A-League season for Brisbane.
Roar are appearing in the Australia Cup proper for the first time since making the final in 2023 after two straight years losing in the playoffs.
After a bright start, the Roar faded badly and went winless across their last 12 games of the season, ultimately finishing in 11th spot on the ladder, 12 points off the finals.
Michael Valkanis remains in charge, with Brisbane warming up for this Australia Cup with friendly wins over Caboolture (3-0) and Ipswich (5-0).
Roar are appearing in the Australia Cup proper for the first time since making the final in 2023 after two straight years losing in the playoffs.
Verdict
Both teams are tipped to score, with Brisbane coming away with the win and reaching the R16.
