Villarreal have raised their level in La Liga, stringing together three straight victories to climb up to 3rd place. 

After the international break, they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Atletico Madrid, but quickly bounced back with consecutive 2-1 wins over Osasuna and Sevilla. 

The Yellow Submarine made it three in a row last weekend, edging Athletic Bilbao 1-0 at home thanks to Alberto Moleiro’s 77th-minute strike. 

In their first UCL group phase appearance two weeks ago, Villarreal were beaten by Tottenham 1-0 in London. 

Juventus Form 


Juventus looked dead and buried in their UCL opener against Borussia Dortmund, trailing by two goals deep into stoppage time, but late efforts from Dusan Vlahovic and Lloyd Kelly rescued a dramatic point. 

They started Serie A strongly with three wins from three, beating Parma 2-0, Genoa 1-0 and Inter Milan 4-3. 

Form has dipped since then, as they were held 1-1 by Hellas Verona and could only manage another 1-1 draw at home to Atalanta last weekend, Juan Cabal finding a late equalizer.

Villarreal’s back line is plagued by injuries, Willy Kambwala and Juan Foyth being ruled out, while Pau Navarro is on international U20 duty. Strikers Gerard Moreno and Ayoze Perez are doubtful. 

As for the visitors, they can’t count on Fabio Miretti (thigh injury), Bremer (knee injury) and Khephren Thuram (calf problem).
