Vipers, unbeaten in 10 matches and recent Ugandan Premier League champions, are expected to maintain their strong form. CF GR/SIAF, meanwhile, finished seventh in the Djibouti Premier League and haven't won in four games. Both teams play their first match since May, aiming for a strong start. Vipers and CF GR/SIAF begin their campaign at the CECAFA Kagame Cup when they meet in a Group A clash on Friday.

The Ugandans come into this clash in good form and should get the better of their rivals, who are a little out of sorts at the moment.

Key Stats

  • Vipers have won their last two matches in all competitions.
  • CF GR/SIAF have failed to win their last four matches in all competitions.

This will be the first ever meeting between Vipers and CF GR/SIAF.

Vipers Flying High

Vipers come into this clash in high spirits after winning the Ugandan Premier League back in May. They enjoyed a dominant campaign and only suffered one defeat in 30 league matches.

Things were particularly smooth for Vipers towards the end of the season, going unbeaten in their last 10 matches in all competitions. They have won their last two matches, claiming a 2-0 victory over Express in their most recent fixture.

The task for Vipers will be to carry that form into the Kagame Cup as they look to use the regional competition as a warm-up for their CAF Champions League campaign. However, a slight issue for the Ugandan giants is that they have not been in competitive action since May and will be hoping to avoid any rustiness.

CF GR/SIAF Looking Off Colour

CF GR/SIAF come into this tournament off the back of a disappointing campaign in the Djibouti Premier League. They were never in contention for anything and finished seventh in the table.

The domestic campaign ended with a whimper for CF GR/SIAF, who suffered three defeats and played out one draw in their final four matches. They failed to score in all four fixtures, while their last competitive outing was a 0-0 scoreline against Port back in May.

Like Vipers, CF GR/SIAF are also heading into their first competitive action since the Djibouti Premier League ended in May. They will also be keen to avoid showing too much rustiness on Friday.
