Mid-Season Invitational 2026 is just around the corner, set to welcome the world’s best LoL teams who will battle it out for the coveted trophy.
Sec to kick off on Sunday, June 28, Mid-Season Invitational 2026 is the second international League of Legends event of the season and one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year.
This year’s iteration will be held at Daejeon Convention Center in Daejeon, South Korea, where 11 teams from all over the world will face off for the trophy, one direct invite to the LoL World Championship, and the largest slice of the US$2,000,000 prize pool.
In attendance are regional champions and runners-up from Korea, China, Europe, North America, and the Pacific region, ensuring a competitive field and a challenging road to the top for any team.
As a result, MSI promises to provide many unforgettable moments for esports fans to look forward to, and plenty of betting opportunities for esports punters to explore.
While the
top-rated bookmakers have T1 and Hanwha Life Esports listed as main title candidates, the presence of other heavyweights such as Bilibili Gaming, Top Esports, and G2 Esports ensures that there is no clear favourite.

Mid-Season Invitational is scheduled to start on Sunday, June 28, with the first games of the Play-In stage. The tournament will run for two weeks and conclude on Sunday, July 12, with the grand finals.
Mid-Season Invitational is divided into two stages, starting with the Play-In stage.
The Play-In stage will feature four LoL teams who placed second in their respective leagues, including T1, Team Liquid, Karmine Corp, and Deep Cross Gaming. The four squads will face off in a double-elimination bracket, where all matches are best-of-five (BO5) with Fearless Draft.
The Play-In winners will secure a spot in the Bracket Stage, where they’ll join seven directly-invited teams.

Sitting in second place in the power rankings, according to the outright odds, are Hanwha Life Esports and T1, with the latter holding a slight edge. That is, even though HLE bested T1 in the LoL Champions Korea playoffs and emerged as Korea’s best team.
Arguably, Hanwha Life Esports are the current strongest LoL team in the world. They have insanely strong solo laners, and no clear weaknesses, presenting themselves as the most well-rounded squad.
Admittedly, they’ve been slightly inconsistent in the spring split, but towards the end, HLE have found more stability. The big question is how Hanwha Life Esports will adapt to the new patch and new meta.
The same can be asked about T1; however, they, in that regard, have a slight edge, as T1 will get to play in the Play-Ins. In other words, T1 will get to play three BO5s, giving them plenty of time to figure out the new patch and prepare for the playoffs.
Unlike Hanwha Life Esports, T1 tend to rely more on their bottom lane, which is arguably the best in the world. And while their solo lanes do not look as dominant, T1 don’t really lack in many areas.
China’s No.1 seed, Bilibili Gaming join the list of main title contenders. They are very similar to Hanwha Life Esports as BLG also have very strong solo lanes, and arguably the current best player in the world in mid laner Knight.
Their bottom lane is not as dominant, but it is far from a liability. While there are no clear answers to whether it’s true, the new patch should benefit BLG more than any other team.
Moving down the outright markets, we have Top Esports and G2 Esports in that order. But it would be fair to say that G2 are the fourth-best team and TES fifth.
Even though Top Esports fail from a stronger region, they’ve been lacking this split and have been somewhat volatile. More importantly, TES are known to slip at international events, which might not be the case this season, yet Top Esports have to prove it first.
Some may argue that G2 haven’t been properly tested this split as the LEC only featured one other strong team in Karmine Corp. But this is the best Europe has to offer, and G2 Esports have been getting progressively better.
So while Top Esports appear stronger on paper, G2 Esports have the tools to surprise. One of their biggest weapons is G2’s ability to prepare extremely well for the challenges ahead, and they often come up with unique strategies and drafts that can catch any team off guard.
