Arthur Fils is on a hot streak, having won 39 of his last 40 matches, showing resilience especially in three-set battles. Andrey Rublev, on the other hand, is struggling against top-tier talents and might find it challenging to overpower Fils in the ATP Barcelona final. With impressive service stats backing him, Fils is predicted to secure victory, likely in a closely contested three-setter. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter with Fils' consistency and Rublev's experience both on display.

Rublev Into First Final Since May 2025

Andrey Rublev got to three hard court semi-finals this year, in Hong Kong, Doha and Dubai. He couldn’t maintain that form in the Masters events, losing his opening matches in Indian Wells and Miami.

The Russian competed in Monte Carlo last week where he suffered a 6-4 6-1 second round exit to Zizou Bergs.

Rublev has improved in Barcelona where he began by beating Mariano Navone 6-4 7-5, Lorenzo Sonego 6-2 6-3 and Tomas Machac 6-4 6-3, saving a combined 12/19 break points.

The 28-year-old fell behind against qualifier Hamad Medjedovic in the semi-finals, storming home to win 3-6 6-2 6-2 in under two hours. He won 69% of his 2nd serves and saved 5/6 break points.

Fils Back in Form

Arthur Fils spent six months recovering from a back injury before getting back on court in February. He reached the quarter-finals in Montpellier and lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the Qatar Open final.

The 21-year-old finished the hard court swing with confidence, losing to Alexander Zverev in the Indian Wells quarter-finals and Jiri Lehecka in the Miami semi-finals.

The Frenchman took some time off before competing in Barcelona. He survived a big scare in the first round, saving two match points in a 4-6 6-4 7-6 victory over Terence Atmane.

Fils defeated Brandon Nakashima 6-2 6-3 and Lorenzo Musetti 6-3 6-4 before another come from behind victory in the semi-finals. He beat Rafael Jodar 3-6 6-3 6-2, saving all five break points in the second set.

Verdict

Arthur Fils is rapidly rising up the rankings and Andrey Rublev can’t be trusted against Top 30 players. The Russian can win a set, but Fils has been serving stronger in Barcelona and is backed to win the final.
