Cocciaretto has impressed on hard courts this year, but despite her recent setback, Raducanu’s quality on this surface gives her the edge, even if it won’t come easy.

  • She owns a strong 14–4 win-loss record on tour in 2026.

Cocciaretto’s Hard-Court Form Shines Again

Elisabetta Cocciaretto came through qualifying in Dubai with two hard-fought three-set wins over Donna Vekic and Anastasia Zakharova, saving three match points in the latter match.

She has been in excellent form on hard courts, winning 14 of her last 18 matches, including a title in Hobart and a quarterfinal run in Doha.

Those results have lifted her ranking and strengthened her belief heading into this week.

In her only previous Dubai appearance in 2024, she defeated Elise Mertens before falling to Coco Gauff in the second round.

Health Concerns Cloud Raducanu’s Campaign

Emma Raducanu saw her Doha campaign end in a first-round defeat to Camila Osorio, 6-2, 4-6, 0-2. After a strong start, her physical condition worsened and she retired in the deciding set due to illness.

The Brit has admitted to dealing with recurring health issues in recent months, having also struggled earlier this season at the United Cup and again in Doha.

Despite those setbacks, she recently reached the final in Cluj, making the most of a favorable draw before losing to Sorana Cirstea.

Raducanu has played in Dubai once before, in 2025, when she defeated Maria Sakkari en route to the second round before falling to Karolina Muchova.

Verdict

Cocciaretto has impressed on hard courts this season and comes in with solid momentum, while Raducanu is returning from a Doha retirement due to illness. If fully fit, Raducanu’s higher ceiling on this surface gives her the edge, but expect Cocciaretto to push hard and keep it competitive.
