Troy Williamson (22-4-1, 16 KOs) defends his British and Commonwealth super-middleweight titles against former champion Callum Simpson (18-1, 13 KOs) at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England on Saturday, August 8.

These two men met at this venue last December, and it was Williamson who emerged victorious as he became the first man to beat Simpson in the professional ranks, taking away those two championship belts, as well as the European title.
He did it in dramatic fashion though – down on the scorecards entering the latter part of the contest, Williamson knew he would need a stoppage to claim the British, Commonwealth and European titles. He got it in the 10th round as he sensationally dropped Simpson four times, forcing the referee to wave off the contest.
It capped off a successful 2025 for Williamson, who snapped a three-fight losing sequence with back-to-back knockout wins, but at 34 years of age he knows his chances of landing a world title shot are running out, and they will almost certainly be ended by a defeat to Simpson.
The challenger, on the other hand, knows that another loss to a domestic rival would be a major blow to his own hopes of moving on to bigger fights in the years to come, and that means this is a massive fight for both men.
