Legacy and MIBR know each other very well, having faced five times this season already, including in the Intel Extreme Masters Cologne Major, when MIBR won.
However, even though MIBR have Legacy’s number in the head-to-head this year, they enter Sunday’s game as underdogs, which is largely due to their shaky performances leading up to the weekend clash.
Legacy haven’t had a chance to show much in recent weeks either, but they looked potent in the two games at the EWC, producing much stronger performances than MIBR.
- Legacy have looked good in France
- MIBR have Legacy’s number in H2H
- A close game is not unlikely

Legacy Are Looking Strong
Legacy have kicked off their Esports World Cup campaign with a 13-5 victory against Ninjas in Pyjamas, showing strong form straight out of the gates. That was impressive considering Legacy were away from action for a while, yet they did not get affected by any rust.
Despite the strong start, they failed to book a direct invite to the playoffs, as they had to admit defeat to FaZe Clan in the upper bracket finals. The South American squad lost the game with 6-13 on Cache and 8-13 on Mirage, getting outclassed by the high-flying FaZe.
The bad loss stung, but Legacy deserve some slack as FaZe have been in excellent shape of late. MIBR should present a much easier challenge. But that proves nothing.

MIBR With More to Show
MIBR found some momentum ahead of the Esports World Cup, winning StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026: South American Qualifier. There, they faced mostly weaker regional opponents, raising questions about whether MIBR was prepared to challenge stronger teams at the EWC.
This fear came true, as MIBR kicked off the tournament with a bad loss against Astralis (6-13), before bouncing back with a 2-0 sweep of K27.
MIBR bested the Russian squad with 13-10 on Cache and 13-5 on Nuke. It was a solid showing from MIBR, particularly insani, who seems to be back in top shape, posting a 1.61 performance rating.
His teammate, nqz was not too far behind, with a 1.49, and venomzera at 1.20.

Verdict
Legacy have looked more potent than MIBR of late, which explains why they are expected to win on Sunday. But as a regional derby, this match is bound to be a closer one, as the players know each other well. Add the fact that MIBR have Legacy’s number this season, and a close match or even an upset becomes more likely.
With insani back in top shape, it is easy to make a case for MIBR, especially at the current prices. This appears to be a 50/50 match more than anything.
