LNG Esports and LGD Gaming, both with 3-1 records, face off in a crucial LPL 2026 Split 2 clash for Group Nirvana's top seed. LNG, entering as favorites and leading the head-to-head 2-0 this season, have the stronger roster but show overconfidence and vulnerability in matches, dropping maps against underdogs. LGD have been solid but haven’t managed to overcome LNG yet. The game remains highly anticipated, with experts favoring LNG but suggesting LGD can keep the match close. LNG and LGD have emerged as the strongest teams in Nirvana, both winning three of four games. However, despite managing the same record as LGD, LNG enter this game as favourites, which comes as no surprise.
LNG were very dominant in the lower division in Split 1, and they arguably field the most stacked roster in this group. However, they tend to mess around, which explains why LNG have been dropping maps even against weaker opponents.
LGD Gaming should be able to take advantage of that, but it remains to be seen whether they have the tools to defeat LNG after failing to do so twice this season.

- LGD lost to LNG in Split 1

LNG Esports Are Overly Confident
LNG Esports haven’t managed a perfect record this split, but 3-1 with a 7-4 map difference is a good spot to be in. Arguably, LNG are in a class of its own in this group, and while the one loss might dispute that claim, the eye test proves otherwise.
Admittedly, LNG have shown some cracks hit split, but only against EDG and ThunderTalk Gaming up until their clash with Ultra Prime, who also took a map off LNG.
It was a weird game. LNG crushed UP on the first map, then got a bit too confided on the second and closed it out on the third.
The whole game was odd, just because LNG seemed to be more than ready to mess around, as they have this entire split. Could be a case of LNG being too confident, knowing that not many teams can challenge them. Something to keep an eye on.

LGD Gaming Are Holding on Well
LGD Gaming have won three of four games played this split, which includes a 2-1 victory against ThunderTalk Gaming in Week 5.
It was a competitive game. LGD Gaming struggled to keep up on the first map, but then crushed TT Gaming on the second map and edged out the third, after LGD won a key teamfight.
Overall, LGD Gaming have been playing well. They are now quite up there with EDG and LNG yet, but like LNG, LGD have now won three games, so maybe they’re better than many have given them credit for.

Verdict
LNG are widely regarded as the best team in Group Nirvana, and they might be. However, as seen in their past games, LNG are prepared to mess around a bit, which explains why they’ve consistently dropped maps in their victories.
LGD Gaming have been holding on just as well, going 3-1 over the first six weeks of play, with a couple of strong showings, including the one against ThunderTalk Gaming. While LGD have not shown anything exceptional, they’ve been getting things done and should be more than capable of forcing a close game here.
