Paper Rex Looking to Build Momentum
After dominating Stage 1 and securing another Masters silver medal in London, Paper Rex returned to VCT Pacific looking to defend their throne. Their start hasn’t been perfect, though, as Paper Rex lost to T1 (1-2) in the first week, before bouncing back with a 2-0 victory against DetonatioN FocusMe.
The latter match was relatively close, as Paper Rex won Summit 13-10 and needed overtime to win Ascent (17-15). Nevertheless, they got the job done against a team who haven’t been playing too poorly this stage.
Paper Rex have nothing more to prove, as they are firmly seated at the top of the power rankings in VCT Pacific. They also do not need to win the league to qualify for VALORANT Champions, but that should not mean that they will just roll over and die.

DRX Look Rough
DRX kicked off Stage 2 with a 2-1 win against DetonatioN FocusMe, but then lost against Team Secret. The latter game was a terrible display from DRX, who lost with 4-13 on Sunset and 7-13 on Haven. To make matters worse, they suffered such a bad beat against one of the league’s bottom teams.
Seeing DRX struggle so much is worrying, but also not too surprising, as DRX have not been in the best shape this season. And until they show more, DRX will be hard to trust to deal with VCT Pacific’s top teams, especially PR, who have beaten them three times already since the turn of the season.
