Team Liquid vs LYON Betting Tips – LCS 2026 Summer Trophy on the Line
Team Liquid and LYON are set to clash in the LCS 2026 grand finals. While LYON dominate the season's head-to-head (5-1), their recent playoff performances have raised doubts. In contrast, Team Liquid comes in strong, dismantling top teams in the playoffs, despite a weeklong break. Both squads retain their main rosters, and Liquid’s consistency and form make them slight favorites, even with LYON’s historical edge. Fans can catch the high-stakes match on major esports streaming platforms and place in-play bets.

LYON have beaten Team Liquid once before this split and have Liquid’s number, with 5-1 in the head-to-head. However, while the past results make LYON the better team, they haven’t been all that amazing in the playoffs, at least in comparison to Team Liquid.
Liquid have made quite a run to the grand finals, notably dismantling Cloud9 in the upper bracket final. FlyQuest also defeated Cloud9 in the previous round, but they looked far less convincing, so comparing the two wins against the third-best LCS team, Liquid appear stronger.
One concern with Liquid is that they are entering this match cold, having not played a single game in a week. But the eye test proves they’re in better shape.
- Team Liquid have looked better in the playoffs
- LYON are 5-1 up in head-to-head
- Team Liquid should be favoured
LYON Are 5-1 Up in Head-to-Head
LYON have met with Team Liquid six times this season and won all but one game.

LYON Are Not Invincible
LYON won the LCS 2026 Summer regular season, and despite the minor hiccup in the upper bracket semifinals, where LYON lost to Cloud9, they’ve managed to fight their way to the grand finals.
They handled Shopify Rebellion 3-1 in the lower bracket semifinal, and got their revenge against Cloud9 in the lower bracket final with the same 3-1 score.
Beating Cloud9 3-1 is no small feat, but the final score does not paint the whole picture. Cloud9 arguably should’ve won the second map and fourth, but they shot themselves in the foot. That doesn’t mean that LYON did not play well, but they’ve definitely not performed as well as it may seem.
LYON are a good team and a solid squad who know their way around in the late game. But they’re not invincible.

Team Liquid Are In Great Shape
Team Liquid placed second in the LCS Summer regular season, despite managing the same 6-1 record as LYON. Then in the playoffs, they’ve beaten FlyQuest (3-0) and Cloud9 (3-1) without any issues, showing excellent form ahead of the grand finals.
This is easily one of LCS’s best teams, and there are arguments to be made that Liquid are the region’s top dogs. They are very good at playing tempo and very consistent, with little to no cracks in their armour.
One concern with Liquid is that they’re coming into this game cold, as they’ve not played a game since September 27. ON the other side, LYON are fresh off the match against Cloud9, so unlike LYON, Liquid will be slightly rusty.

Verdict
LYON have handled Team Liquid five times before this season, including once in the summer regular season. However, while LYON have proven to be the better team in this head-to-head, Liquid have looked much better in the playoffs.
Despite entering the match cold, having been away from action for a week, Liquid are arguably the better team, mainly because LYON did not look all that convincing in their last outing.
Team Liquid to win.
