Spirit kicked off the event with a humiliating 10-13 loss against JiJieHao, before bouncing back with a 2-0 sweep of Luminosity and a 2-1 win over BIG. Neither of the two victories, however, were too convincing.

B8 have performed better than expected this tournament. They qualified for the playoffs via Group C upper bracket, where B8 bested PARIVISION (13-11) and upset Team Vitality 2-1, with 12-16 on Mirage, 13-11 on Inferno, and 13-4 on Dust II.
Widely considered a fluke win and a major upset, B8’s victory over Vitality wasn’t their first nor only good showing of the recent months. B8 have previously found some traction, reaching the semifinals of RES Showdown EU Fall, and they also left a somewhat solid impression at the IEM Cologne Major.
