Barracas Central face Independiente Rivadavia at Estadio Claudio Chiqui Tapia in a balanced Liga Profesional matchup. Both teams have been frequently involved in games with goals at both ends, making 'Both Teams to Score' (BTTS) a recommended pick. Barracas Central remain winless in seven matches, drawing their last three, while Independiente Rivadavia are unbeaten in six of their last seven league outings (excluding penalties) and sit two points ahead in Group B. Injury updates show several absentees for both sides. A draw looks probable based on recent history and current form.

Barracas Central vs Independiente Rivadavia Predictions

Barracas Central host Independiente Rivadavia meet at Estadio Claudio Chiqui Tapia in the Liga Profesional on Monday.

Barracas Central have been struggling in recent weeks, while Independiente Rivadavia are in better form but remain defensively vulnerable.

BTTS offers plenty of value, with a share of the spoils also on the cards.

Even Contest Expected in Buenos Aires

  • Barracas Central have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 matches
  • Barracas Central drew their last 3 matches
  • Independiente Rivadavia have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 6 matches against Barracas Central
  • Independiente Rivadavia have seen BTTS in their last 4 matches
  • Independiente Rivadavia have drawn 4 of their last 9 matches

Barracas Edge Recent Independiente H2H

Barracas Central and Independiente Rivadavia have met on nine occasions since 2020. Barracas Central won four games while Independiente Rivadavia secured two victories.

Two of their last four meetings finished as dra

Barracas Central Winless in Seven

Barracas Central return to Estadio Claudio Chiqui Tapia after a 1-1 draw at Banfield in last week's LPA contest.

Lautaro Gomez put Banfield ahead before Ivan Tapia equalised from the penalty spot.

Barracas were a little unfortunate not to secure all three points. The hosts enjoyed 63% possession while finishing with a higher xG total of 1.28 compared with Banfield's 0.53.

Damian Ayude’s men have now been held to draws in each of their last three matches, while remaining winless in seven games since a four-game winning run at the end of July.

Recent results against Independiente Rivadavia should give the out-of-form hosts some confidence. Barracas Central are unbeaten in three of their last four meetings and have won four of the nine encounters since 2019.

Independiente Rivadavia Suffer Copa Argentina Setback

Independiente Rivadavia travel to Buenos Aires after a disappointing penalty shootout defeat against Atletico Tucuman in the Copa Argentina on Wednesday.

Alex Arce’s first-half penalty opened the scoring before Pedro Canelo equalised in added time. Tucuman secured their place in the next round with a 3-2 penalty shootout success.

Despite coming close to victory, the hosts could have little complaint about the outcome. Tucuman had twice as many efforts on goal (15-7) and finished with a higher xG total (1.33-0.94).

Rivadavia have been involved in several entertaining LPA contests in recent weeks. Fifteen goals were scored in their last three fixtures. All three games finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

The visitors have been tough to beat in the past month. Alfredo Berti’s side are unbeaten in six of their last seven matches (90 minutes), with their only defeat a 3-1 reversal against River Plate.

Nine games into their Clausura, Group B campaign, Independiente sit 6th in the division, two points ahead of Barracas.

Barracas Central vs Independiente Rivadavia Team News

Barracas Central: (4-3-3) Marcelo Mino; Yonatthan Rak, Kevin Jappert, Nicolas Demartini, Damian Martinez; Dardo Miloc, Ivan Tapia, Elias Pereyra; Tomas Porra, Norberto Briasco, Gonzalo Maroni.

Barracas Central have four confirmed injury absentees ahead of Sunday’s clash. Fernando Tobio, Lucas Gamba, Manuel Duarte and Nicolas Orsini are all unavailable.

Independiente Rivadavia: (4-3-1-2) Nicolas Bolcato; Alex Vigo, Ivan Villalba, Leonard Costa, Juan Elordi; Gonzalo Rios, Tomas Bottari, Jose Florentin; Fabrizio Sartori; Maximiliano Salas, Alex Arce.

Independiente Rivadavia are unlikely to make too many changes from the side that started last week’s cup defeat against Tucuman.

Luciano Gomez and Sheyko Studer are the only injury issues for the away side.

Verdict

Monday’s LPA fixture looks like an evenly balanced contest, with both teams capable of getting on the scoresheet.

BTTS offers the value, while I also fancy a draw at Estadio Claudio Chiqui Tapia.
