Champions League Predictions & Longshots Today - Wednesday Betting Tips & Best Bets

The Champions League continues on Wednesday with another packed schedule and Day 2 might have an even stronger set of games than the opening night.

For the latest Free Tips Football preview, we put five games under the microscope, including Barcelona's opener against Feyenoord, Liverpool hosting Atletico Madrid and Arsenal travelling to Napoli.

We've also introduced Longshot Corner, with three bigger-priced correct score predictions for those looking for something a little more adventurous.

Here are our picks.

Barcelona v Feyenoord - How Many Can Barca Score?

Barcelona have started the season in frightening form, scoring 17 goals across their last four games and coming into this one after thrashing Valencia 5-0.

Feyenoord's recent defensive record doesn't inspire much confidence either, having conceded twice in three of their last four matches.

The question might therefore be less about whether Barcelona win and more about the margin. Lamine Yamal is another obvious player to watch after scoring twice in his latest appearance, with Yamal to score two or more goals at 3.75 discussed on the show.

A Barcelona handicap is also worth considering if you're expecting another comfortable victory.

Pick: Barcelona Handicap

Liverpool v Atletico Madrid - Expect Goals at Anfield

Neither Liverpool nor Atletico Madrid have looked particularly convincing defensively to start their domestic campaigns.

Liverpool have scored twice in each of their opening three league matches, but have also recorded a pair of 2-2 draws against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.

Atletico have had similar problems keeping teams out, conceding against Villarreal and Sevilla before losing 3-0 to Athletic last time out.

Picking a winner is difficult when neither side has completely found its rhythm, so the goals market looks much more appealing.

Pick: Over 2.5 Goals

Alexander Isak is another player to consider after scoring twice early against Ipswich in his latest appearance.

Napoli v Arsenal - Back the Gunners

Arsenal's defence was one of the main reasons we backed them in our Champions League outright preview, and it is also central to the case for them winning in Naples.

The Gunners have conceded just once through their opening four games and have quickly returned to the defensive form that made them so difficult to beat last season.

Napoli enter this one after consecutive defeats and now face one of the strongest defensive teams in the competition.

Pick: Arsenal to Win

PSG v Slovan Bratislava - Comfortable Win or Huge Upset?

On paper, this should be one of the most one-sided games of Day 2.

Slovan Bratislava have lost eight consecutive Champions League matches, while PSG have home advantage and are expected to win comfortably.

However, PSG's start to the season has created at least some doubt. They've dominated possession without consistently turning it into chances and recently lost 1-0 to Lens despite playing against ten men for a significant part of the game.

The FreeTips angle is still to expect PSG to eventually make their superiority count.

Pick: PSG -3 Handicap

Ryan, however, has a considerably crazier idea for this game. More on that below.

Stuttgart v Viking - Goals on the Cards

Viking might be the outsiders in Germany, but they arrive in good form and have already demonstrated their ability to score in European competition.

Stuttgart have also been involved in plenty of high-scoring games, which makes the goals markets more interesting than simply backing the German side at short odds.

Both teams have scored in each of Viking's last five games. One player also stands out: Zlatko Tripic, who has recorded a goal or assist in seven consecutive games across all competitions.

Pick: Both Teams to Score

Player Pick: Zlatko Tripic to Score or Assist

Longshot Corner - Three Correct Score Picks

We're adding something new to our Champions League previews - Longshot Corner.

These aren't supposed to be the safest bets on the card. We're looking for bigger prices where we can at least build a case for an upset or an unlikely scoreline.

First up is Liverpool to beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 at 12.00. Liverpool have been scoring consistently but conceding too, making a home win with both sides scoring an interesting correct-score angle.

Then things get considerably more ambitious.

Ryan is backing Slovan Bratislava to beat PSG 2-1 at 67.00. PSG's early struggles provide the theory - but there's a reason you're getting 67.00.

Jeremy has gone down a similar path with Viking to beat Stuttgart 3-2 at 41.00, backing the Danish side's recent attacking form to produce a huge upset in Germany.

Longshot Picks:

  • Liverpool 3-1 Atletico Madrid @ 12.00
  • PSG 1-2 Slovan Bratislava @ 67.00
  • Stuttgart 2-3 Viking @ 41.00

Our Champions League Day 2 Picks

  • Barcelona v Feyenoord: Barcelona Handicap
  • Barcelona v Feyenoord: Lamine Yamal 2+ Goals @ 3.75
  • Liverpool v Atletico Madrid: Over 2.5 Goals
  • Napoli v Arsenal: Arsenal to Win
  • PSG v Slovan Bratislava: PSG -3 Handicap
  • Stuttgart v Viking: Both Teams to Score
  • Stuttgart v Viking: Zlatko Tripic to Score or Assist
  • Longshot: Liverpool 3-1 Atletico Madrid @ 12.00
  • Longshot: Slovan Bratislava 2-1 PSG @ 67.00
  • Longshot: Viking 3-2 Stuttgart @ 41.00
