Lesotho vs Nigeria Live Stream & Tips - Super Eagles to cover against Lesotho

In this FIFA World Cup qualifier, Nigeria faces Lesotho in a critical match. Lesotho, at the bottom of Group D, have shown a mixed performance with two wins, three draws, and three losses. Despite early hopes, recent heavy defeats against South Africa and Benin have ended their qualification dreams. Nigeria, third in the group, must win to stay in contention. A recent 1-0 win against Rwanda and a 1-1 draw in South Africa boosts their confidence. The prediction favors Nigeria to secure a decisive victory given Lesotho's recent struggles.

Lesotho vs Nigeria Preview

Nigeria will fancy their chances against a Lesotho side that has been in very poor form, conceding plenty and offering no threat going forward. My best bet is for the visitors to cover -2.

  • Lesotho have lost their last 4 matches to nil.
  • Lesotho have conceded 14 goals in their last 4 matches.
  • Nigeria have won 2 of their last 3 matches to nil.
  • Nigeria are unbeaten in their last 3 matches.

Head to Head

Lesotho shocked Nigeria earlier the campaign, holding them to a 1-1 draw in Lagos.

Lesotho Form

Lesotho come into this second to last group game of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers fifth in Group D. They have two wins, three draws and three defeats.

Qualification for them is no longer possible but they will want to build on what has been a positive campaign for them. In September, Lesotho lost 3-0 to South Africa in a qualifier and then 4-0 to Benin.

Both were very disappointing results as up to that point; it looked like Lesotho could cause a shock by finishing in the top two.

Nigeria Form

Nigeria will be very concerned with their current position on the table as they are third on 11 points, three points off South Africa and Benin. Anything but a win against Lesotho could prove disastrous.

The Super Eagles will, however, be buoyed by the fact that South Africa were docked three points a few weeks ago, otherwise they would be six points adrift.

Nigeria beat Rwanda 1-0 at home in September before a 1-1 draw in South Africa kept their qualification hopes alive. Victory here could make it a straight shootout for the World Cup with Benin next week.

Verdict

Nigeria are backed to cover the -2 handicap against Lesotho. 3-0 is my correct score tip.
