Rwanda vs Benin Live Stream & Tips - Share of the spoils in huge World Cup qualifier

The upcoming match between Rwanda and Benin holds significant weight in the World Cup qualifying campaign. Both teams are closely matched with Rwanda looking to capitalize on a win to boost their standings, while Benin aims to solidify their lead at the top of Group C. The previous encounter saw Benin narrowly winning 1-0, and both teams have shown strong defensive records coming into this game. A draw seems the most probable outcome, as both teams have regularly seen low-scoring games recently.

Rwanda vs Benin Preview

These two sides are evenly matches and are both in position to still qualify for the World Cup. However, this result could be crucial. I am backing Benin to hold on for a draw which is a result that doesn't really suit either side.

  • Benin Form

  • Rwanda won their last match 1-0 against Zimbabwe
  • Rwanda have seen under 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches.
  • Benin have won their last 2 matches to nil.
  • Benin have seen under 2.5 goals in 7 of their last 9 matches.

Head to Head

Benin beat Rwanda 1-0 at home in their last meeting.

Rwanda Form

Rwanda are currently fourth on the Group C table with two games to play. They have won two, drawn three and lost three but are just three points off the top two.

World Cup qualification is on for Rwanda, especially if they manage to take all three points in this game. They will then join Benin on 14 points and depending on what Nigeria and South Africa do in their two games, they could go into the final game with a really good chance.

In September, Rwanda lost 1-0 in Nigeria before beating Zimbabwe 1-0 away from home a few days later. Their final game next week will be against South Africa, and should they win both, a top two finish is very possible.

Benin Form

Benin go into this penultimate Group C game top of the table on goal difference ahead of South Africa. They have won four, drawn two and lost two of their eight matches to date.

Victory will be top priority for Benin as that will take them very close to qualification. However, a draw will not be catastrophic, but we must remember, their final game next week is away to Nigeria.

In the September qualifiers, Benin won both of their matches, beating Zimbabwe 1-0 and Lesotho 4-0, both of those games were at home.

Verdict

I am backing this match to end in a draw with 1-1 my scoreline tip.
