Persib vs Melbourne Victory Verdict


Persib Bandung are perfect so far in the AFC Champions League 2 with two wins from two. They can make that three straight with victory over Melbourne Victory at home in Indonesia, where they are incredibly strong.

Persib were crowned Indonesian champions last term, edging out Borneo on the H2H rule after both teams finished level on 79 points.

It's been a bit of a slow start to this current domestic season, with Persib sitting in fifth spot on the ladder, winning four, losing two and drawing once in their seven outings.

Igor Tolić's side have made a perfect start to the ACL 2, beating Viettel and FC Seoul by 1-0 scores. Persib come into this clash on the back of a 2-1 win in the league over Garudayaksa at the weekend.

Melbourne Victory Form

Victory are winless after two games of the new A-League season, losing 2-1 across the Tasman to Wellington before last weekend's 1-1 draw in the Melbourne derby against City.

Keegan Jelacic opened the scoring after some brilliant lead-up work from Charles Nduka, but Victory conceded an equaliser early in the second half as the scored remained level.

It's part of a difficult period for Victory, who were also stunned in the Australia Cup final by NPL Victoria side South Melbourne on penalties.

New manager Giovanni Savarese is faring better in the ACL 2, picking up four points in a 1-1 draw away to Viettel and 3-0 win over Seoul at home.
