Things have been turbulent at Real Madrid recently, with the situation escalating after a 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier this month, a loss that led to Xabi Alonso being replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa.

Monaco Deep in Crisis

Monaco are going through a major crisis at the moment, losing their last four Ligue 1 matches, which has intensified speculation about the future of head coach Sebastien Pocognoli, who has been in charge for just over two months.

Last Friday, they were heavy home favorites against Lorient and dominated possession with 61% while edging shots on target 7-4, but still suffered a shocking 3-1 defeat due to a poor response to counter-attacks.

Despite their domestic struggles, Monaco remain in a solid position in the Champions League playoff race. They enter this round in 19th place with nine points from six matches, having beaten Galatasaray 1-0 in their most recent outing, with Folarin Balogun scoring the decisive goal.
