FC Copenhagen vs Napoli Predictions & Tips - BTTS Tipped in Denmark

FC Copenhagen and Napoli are set to face off for the first time in a highly anticipated UEFA Champions League fixture. Napoli, despite a recent hard-fought victory in Serie A, have historically struggled in their away European matches, which could prove advantageous for a motivated Copenhagen team. As both teams sit level on points, expectations are high for a competitive match. Key players for both teams are sidelined due to injuries, further complicating the strategic landscape. Analysts suggest a match where both teams score, with Copenhagen holding the potential to avoid defeat.

FC Copenhagen vs Napoli Predictions

Napoli have toiled on their continental travels, and they could slip up against a highly motivated home side. I'm backing BTTS while I also have a stake in Copenhagen in the double chance market.

Napoli Struggle on the Road

  • FC Copenhagen have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 matches (Champions League)
  • FC Copenhagen are unbeaten in 2 of their last 3 home matches (Champions League)
  • Napoli failed to win 3 of their last 4 matches
  • Napoli lost their last 3 away matches (Champions League)

Napoli and Copenhagen Set for First Ever Meeting

FC Copenhagen and Napoli will meet for the first time on Tuesday.

Copenhagen Return to Competitive Action

FC Copenhagen face their first competitive fixture of the year after an entertaining 4-4 friendly draw against Austrian opponents Sturm Graz last week. Jacob Neestrup's side also picked up a 1-1 draw against Norwegian opponents Brann in their only other runout of 2026.

The Byens have not faced a competitive fixture since back-to-back victories against Villarreal (3-2) and Esbjerg (2-0) in December.

Neestrup's side remains in contention to qualify for the Champions League playoff round. The Danes sit 24th in the section after picking up six points from their two most recent continental fixtures.

Napoli Claim Hard-Fought Serie A Points

Napoli arrive in Denmark after a nervy 1-0 win against Sassuolo last weekend. Stanislav Lobotka's early goal proved decisive as the Neapolitans held on for victory in the face of some serious Sassuolo pressure.

Gli Azzurri had drawn three successive fixtures before their nervy win against Fabio Grosso's men. Antonio Conte's tough-to-beat side are now unbeaten in their last eight games since a 1-0 road defeat against Udinese in December.

The Serie A champions have struggled to replicate their domestic form on the continental stage this season. On the road, the Italians have been beaten in each of three away European matches this season.

Napoli sit 23rd in the Champions League, level with Copenhagen on seven points.

Predicted Lineups and Team News

FC Copenhagen (4-2-3-1) Dominik Kotarski; Yoram Zague, Gabriel Pereira, Junnosuke Suzuki, Marcos Lopez; William Clem, Mads Emil Madsen; Jordan Larsson, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Robert; Viktor Dadason.

Head coach Neestrup has three players unavailable this week. Rodrigo Huescas and Magnus Mattsson are set to miss out with knee injuries, while recently acquired Costa Rica right-back Kenay Myrie is ineligible to feature.

Napoli (3-4-2-1) Vanja Milinkovic-Savic; Sam Beukema, Juan Jesus, Alessandro Buongiorno; Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Antonio Vergara, Scott McTominay, Mathias Olivera; David Neres, Noa Lang; Rasmus Hoejlund.

Napoli boss Conte has several players likely to miss out this week. Matteo Politano and Amir Rahmani are the latest players to add to a growing list of injury issues. David Neres, Kevin De Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, Frank Anguissa and Romelu Lukaku are also expected to remain sidelined.

Verdict

Napoli have been poor on their European travels, and I expect that injury-hit visitors to again struggle this week. BTTS is my best bet, while I also fancy the Danes to avoid defeat in Copenhagen.
