Relegation Battle for Venezia


Venezia lost their opening six Serie A games which saw Giovanni Stroppa relieved of his duties and Davide Nicola given the job.

Nicola got his new side out of the spiral after a fortunate 1-0 win against Napoli where they had 29% possession and 0.98-2.36 xG.

The Winged Lions haven’t scored since, a 1-0 defeat at Genoa followed by a 2-0 loss against Inter Milan. They had more than 1.5 xG in each defeat to highlight their ineffectiveness up front.
