Barcelona are tipped to win to nil against Alaves in their upcoming La Liga fixture at Camp Nou on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Despite recent losses to PSG and Real Madrid, Barcelona have a strong home record, winning to nil in four of their last eight league matches and securing six wins in their last seven encounters with Alaves. Alaves have struggled recently, failing to win in their last six games. While Barcelona have defensive absentees, their overall form and historical dominance support the win to nil selection.

Barcelona are coming off defeats to PSG and Real Madrid but should find Alaves a far easier proposition. I think the Catalan club will control this contest and win with a clean sheet.

Key Stats

  • Barcelona have won to nil in 4 of their last 8 home matches (La Liga).
  • Barcelona have won by 3+ goals in 4 of their last 5 home matches.
  • Alaves have lost 4 of their last 6 matches.

Setback for Barcelona

Barcelona couldn’t have wished for a stronger start to the season, winning 11 straight games with 48 goals scored. They were merciless in the Champions League, winning 5-1 against Feyenoord and 4-1 at Galatasaray.

The winning run came to an end in Paris. Lamine Yamal equalised in the 79th minute at PSG but the French club scored two late goals to take a 4-2 victory.

The Catalan club are coming off a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid. One again they were undone by a late goal, not doing enough with 62% possession and 18-10 shots.

Hansi Flick spoke after the loss in El Clasico: “We're disappointed because we lacked freshness. It's our first defeat in La Liga after nine consecutive wins, but these things happen.”

“In big games, the details are very important, and today they didn't go our way. Defeats are part of football. We have to analyse what happened, do things better, and that's what we'll do.”

Fast Start Slows Down for Alaves

Alaves had a strong start in La Liga, picking up 10 points in their opening four games including a 1-0 win against Villarreal.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ side haven’t won in six games, earning just two points in that run. They drew 0-0 at Athletic Bilbao and lost 2-1 at home to Atletico Madrid after being reduced to 10 men.

The northern club drew 1-1 against Malaga last time out. Aitor Manas equalised in the 89th minute to secure a deserved point, ending the contest with 1.51-0.47 xG.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Barcelona (4-2-3-1) Joan García; João Cancelo, Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, Alejandro Balde; Rodri, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon; Raphinha

Barca have issues in defence with Eric García, Jules Koundé and Andreas Christensen joined by Xavi Espart on the treatment table. The club confirmed he will be out for seven weeks.

Dani Olmo has an adductor issue and Roony Bardghji is out long term with a cruciate ligament rupture.

Alaves (3-5-2) Antonio Sivera; Nahuel Tenaglia, Ville Koski, Nicolas Valentini; Angel Perez, Pablo Ibanez, Antonio Blanco, Carles Alena, Abde Rebbach; Lucas Boye, Toni Martinez

Facundo Garces and Mikel Rodriguez are both out for the remainder of the season. Toni Martinez should come back into the starting side for Mariano Diaz.

Verdict

Alaves have been difficult to beat this season but this is easily their toughest assignment. Barcelona have had time to rest after El Clasico and can get back to their best at Camp Nou.
