Stafford take on Grimsby in the FA Cup, with the main betting tip being Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals, reflecting both sides' recent involvement in high-scoring matches. The article also suggests Over 3.5 Goals as a secondary, lower-confidence selection. These recommendations are based on the attacking nature and recent form of both teams, with no significant team news or absences noted. The focus is on the likelihood of an open, end-to-end contest with plenty of goals.

This will be the first meeting between Stafford and Grimsby.

Stafford High Scoring in the FA Cup

Eighth-tier Stafford Rangers have impressed in the FA Cup qualifying rounds. The north west side have won four of their six cup games, scoring 18 and conceding five.

Stafford thumped National League opponents Gateshead 5-0 at home in the previous round. Rangers followed that triumph with wins against Runcorn Linnets 3-2 and 1874 Northwich and a 5-3 loss at Lower Beck.

Graham Deakin’s side bounced back with a 1-0 away victory at Congleton Town, where Ellis Horan scored an early winner.

Grimsby Unconvincing at the Back

Grimsby will enter the 2026/27 FA Cup in the first round on Sunday. The League Two outfit are in patchy form, losing five of their previous nine, conceding 14.

The Mariners were winless in eight consecutive away matches, including three losses in a row between September and October. That streak ended with a 2-2 draw at Rochdale and a 4-1 win at Gillingham.

David Artell’s team sealed back-to-back wins after defeating York City 5-2 on Saturday. Andy Cook, Iwan Morgan, Cameron McJannet, Josh Andrews and Geza David Turi scored and Grimsby had 2.58 XG.

Predicted Starting Lineups & Team News

Stafford (4-5-1): Russell Saunders; Beto Gomes, Joe Dunne, Harvey Washington, Andy Burns; Tom Tonks, Kyle Sambor, Jack Birch, Todd Ferrier, Scott Bakkor; Ellis Horan
