Vitoria vs Fluminense Predictions & Tips - BTTS Tipped in Salvador

Vitoria host Fluminense at Estadio Manoel Barradas in a Brazilian Serie A match, with both teams to score and over 2.5 goals tipped. Vitoria are winless in four league games and have failed to keep a clean sheet in 10 of their last 12 matches, while Fluminense have seen BTTS in four of their last five and struggle away from home. Recent head-to-heads also support the BTTS angle, and both teams have averaged over a goal per game in relevant stretches. Defensive issues on both sides make goals likely.

Vitoria vs Fluminense Predictions

Vitoria face Fluminense at Estadio Manoel Barradas in a Brazilian Serie A contest this weekend.

The hosts are winless in four league matches, while fourth-placed Fluminense returned to winning ways against Internacional last week.

Both teams have shown defensive vulnerabilities this season, so I have my stake on BTTS.

Goals Expected at Both Ends

  • Vitoria have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches
  • Vitoria scored an average of 1.43 goals per game in their last 16 home  matches (Serie A)
  • Vitoria have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 matches against Fluminense
  • Fluminense have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 matches
  • Fluminense scored an average of 1.31 goals per game in their last 16 away matches (Serie A)

Vitoria Edge Recent Head-to-Head

Vitoria and Fluminense have met on five occasions since 2024. Vitoria picked up two wins while Fluminense claimed one victory. Two games finished level.

Vitoria Struggles Continue

Vitoria return to Serie A action after a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Coritiba last Saturday.

Pedro Rocha broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Tinga added the hosts' second eleven minutes later.

Coritiba were good value for their victory. The hosts finished the contest with 20 shots compared to just six for Vitoria. The visitors mustered only one effort on target and recorded a much lower xG total (0.52-2.16).

Jair Ventura's side have now failed to win their last four matches, including a 1-1 draw against Athletico Paranaense in their most recent home contest.

Over a longer period, Vitoria lost and won only two of 12 games since mid-August.

Defensive vulnerabilities have been the biggest issue for the home side. Ventura's men failed to keep a clean sheet in all but two of those 12 fixtures.

The Salvador outfit sit 15th in Serie A, just one point above the relegation zone.

Fluminense Return to Winning Ways

Fluminense come into Friday's Serie A fixture after a dramatic 2-1 home victory against Internacional last Wednesday.

Alan Patrick fired the visitors ahead after half-time before Hercules equalised in the 78th minute.

With the points seemingly set to be shared, Luciano Acosta struck deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points for Marcao's side at the Maracana.

The Tricolor deserved their late victory, dominating possession (76%) and recording a higher xG total (2.00-1.31).

Last weekend's win provided a welcome boost for Fluminense, with the visitors losing four of five previous fixtures.

Fluminense did pick up a 1-0 Libertadores win at Palmeiras but were eliminated on penalties following a 2-2 aggregate draw.

A poor away record has continued to undermine the Tricolor's season. Marcao's men lost three of their last four on the road, while they have won just three of 16 away Serie A games this season.

The visitors now find themselves fourth in Serie A, and still on course to secure a Copa Libertadores qualification spot.

Vitoria vs Fluminense Team News

Vitoria: (4-2-3-1) Lucas Arcanjo; Edenilson, Caca, Luan Candido, Jamerson; Caique Goncalves, Ze Vitor; Erick, Emmanuel Martinez, Diego Tarzia; Rene Sousa.

Vitoria head coach Jair Ventura is likely to make some changes after last weekend's 2-0 defeat at Coritiba.

Emanuel Britez is suspended, while Mateusinho, Fabiano Souza, Ramon and Nathan Mendes are expected to miss out with various injury issues.

Renato Kayzer is among those pushing for a recall after appearing as a second-half substitute at Coritiba.

Fluminense: (4-2-3-1) Fabio; Guga, Thiago Silva, Juan Freytes, Rene; Hercules, Nonato; Agustin Canobbio, Ganso, Jefferson Savarino; Hulk.

Fluminense head coach Marcao could retain much of the side that claimed a late 2-1 victory against Internacional.

The visitors have four confirmed absentees this week. Ignacio is suspended, while Julian Millan, Martinelli and John Kennedy are set to remain sidelined.

Luciano Acosta is expected to earn a recall after scoring the stoppage-time winner against Internacional.

Verdict

Vitoria have struggled for wins but remain competitive at home, while Fluminense have been poor on their travels this season.

With both defences vulnerable, I have my stake on BTTS at Estádio Manoel Barradas.
