Färjestad vs Malmö SHL 2026/27 Predictions & Betting Tips - FBK Defence to Dominate

Färjestad have been almost impossible to break down this season, and we're backing the SHL leaders to beat Malmö in regulation, keep the visitors under 2.5 goals and get another goal from Viktor Lodin.

Färjestad have won six of their opening seven matches, with five consecutive regulation victories putting them top of the SHL standings. They've conceded just six goals all season, including only two across their latest five games.

Thursday's 5-1 victory away to Skellefteå was another statement performance. Färjestad scored twice inside the opening four minutes, controlled the contest and finished with their fifth straight win.

Malmö arrive in decent form themselves after consecutive victories over Brynäs and Luleå, but this is a much tougher defensive assignment. Färjestad have won all three home games in regulation, and their ability to shut down opposition attacks makes another three-point victory the preferred outcome.

  • Färjestad have won six of seven SHL games, including five consecutive regulation victories.
  • FBK have conceded just six goals in seven matches, an average of 0.86 per game.
  • Färjestad have won all three home games in regulation, scoring 12 goals and conceding only two.
  • Viktor Lodin scored twice against Skellefteå on Thursday, taking his tally to five goals in seven SHL games.

Färjestad BK Form

Färjestad have made an outstanding start to the season, with their only defeat coming in a shootout against Frölunda. Since then, they've beaten Rögle 2-1, Björklöven 5-0, Djurgården 4-0, HV71 3-1 and Skellefteå 5-1.

The defensive numbers are remarkable. FBK have already recorded three shutouts and haven't conceded more than one goal in any of their last five matches. At Löfbergs Arena, they've beaten Örebro 7-0, Rögle 2-1 and HV71 3-1, making a regulation victory against Malmö a strong selection.

Viktor Lodin is also finding his scoring touch. After scoring against Örebro, Frölunda and Rögle earlier in the campaign, the forward added two goals in Thursday's victory over Skellefteå. His five goals in seven games make him an attractive anytime goalscorer option.

Malmö Redhawks Form

Malmö have won three of their opening six SHL matches, scoring and conceding 16 goals. Their results have been mixed, although recent performances suggest they're beginning to find some consistency.

The Redhawks followed a narrow 4-3 defeat against Skellefteå with a 1-0 home victory over Brynäs, before coming from behind to beat Luleå 3-2 on Thursday. Those two victories should give Malmö confidence heading to Karlstad.

However, producing three goals against this Färjestad defence is a different challenge. FBK have held every opponent to two goals or fewer in regulation this season, including strong attacking teams such as Skellefteå. Malmö's improving form deserves respect, but the home side's defensive record is difficult to ignore.

Verdict

Färjestad to win in regulation is the main selection, with Malmö under 2.5 team goals supported by FBK's outstanding defensive record. Viktor Lodin anytime goalscorer completes the picks after his two-goal performance against Skellefteå.
