Lokomotiv Yaroslavl vs Sibir Novosibirsk KHL Predictions & Betting Tips - Loko to Win Another Tight Battle

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl are tipped to win in regulation and score first against Sibir Novosibirsk in their 2026-27 KHL rematch, with under 5.0 goals expected. Lokomotiv's defensive structure and form—winning seven of eight within 60 minutes—make them favorites. Sibir’s struggle to score and solid but overworked goaltending should keep this game low-scoring. Recent stats show Lokomotiv frequently scores first and six of their ten matches went under the 5-goal line. The recommendation: back Lokomotiv in regulation, under 5.0 goals, and to open the scoring.

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl vs Sibir Novosibirsk KHL 2026-27 Predictions & Betting Tips - Loko to Win Another Tight Battle

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl are backed to score first and win in regulation, with Under 5.0 goals completing the selections after the champions controlled Sunday’s 2-1 victory in Novosibirsk.

These teams meet again only three days after Lokomotiv won the reverse fixture. Giovanni Fiore opened the scoring after 12 minutes before Nikita Kiryanov restored the lead early in the third period.

Low scoring has been the dominant Lokomotiv trend. Six of their ten matches have finished below five goals, another three landed exactly on five and only their opening 5-1 victory against Traktor exceeded the line.

The regulation market offers more value than the standard Lokomotiv win without requiring the hosts to cover a two-goal puck line. Lokomotiv have collected seven of their eight victories inside 60 minutes, including Sunday’s win over Sibir.

  • Lokomotiv’s last five game totals were 3, 5, 3, 4 and 3 goals.
  • Under 5.0 would have produced six wins, three pushes and one loss across Lokomotiv’s ten games.
  • Lokomotiv have scored first in seven of ten matches.
  • Sibir have conceded first in six of nine games, including three of four away fixtures.

Lokomotiv Yaroslavl Form

Lokomotiv returned to winning form on Sunday after losing 3-1 against Amur in Khabarovsk. Dmitry Kvartalnov reshuffled every forward line, and the changes helped the champions control long stretches of their 2-1 victory in Novosibirsk.

Fiore scored the opening goal from the slot before Kiryanov redirected Alexander Yelesin’s point shot for the winner. Lokomotiv failed to convert their power-play opportunities and conceded while holding the extra skater, but their penalty kill successfully handled two Sibir opportunities during the closing stages.

Lokomotiv are 4-1 at home this season. Their only defeat was the surprise 5-0 loss against Barys, while Traktor, Shanghai, Severstal and Avangard have all been beaten in Yaroslavl.

Daniil Isayev has produced a 92.0% save percentage this season. Lokomotiv’s defensive structure remains their greatest strength, with nine of their ten games producing no more than five total goals.

Sibir Novosibirsk Form

Sibir have lost seven of their opening nine matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding 29. Their two victories came against Amur and Sochi, with the latter accounting for five of their season goals.

Anton Krasotkin started Sunday’s game and made several important saves, including denying Maxim Shalunov on the power play. He kept Sibir competitive, but the team spent much of the second period defending its own zone.

Alexander Yaremchuk scored Sibir’s only goal while shorthanded after forcing an error from Rushan Rafikov. Taylor Beck also had a goal disallowed, while Stepan Nikulin struck the crossbar.

Mikhail Berdin has been Sibir’s strongest goaltender with a 94.9% save percentage. That goaltending provides another reason to expect a tight contest, but Sibir’s limited attack makes it difficult to oppose Lokomotiv over 60 minutes.
