The Shanghai Dragons are strong favorites to pull away from Sochi in their 2026-27 KHL clash. Shanghai has won consecutive home games, consistently scoring first and keeping opponents to under two goals. Sochi has struggled offensively all season, scoring under 2.5 goals in seven of their eight matches and losing every away game by at least two goals. Shanghai Dragons vs Sochi KHL 2026-27 Predictions & Betting Tips - Dragons to Pull Away

Shanghai Dragons should score first and turn another quiet Sochi attacking performance into a multi-goal victory, making Shanghai -1.5 and Sochi under 2.5 team goals the leading selections.

Shanghai have won consecutive home games against Avtomobilist and Dynamo Minsk, scoring first in both and conceding only three combined goals. Dmitrij Jaskin opened the scoring against Minsk before Yegor Solovyov doubled the lead in a controlled 2-1 victory.

Sochi have scored only seven goals across eight matches and have remained below 2.5 in seven of them. Their four away fixtures have ended in 5-1, 4-1, 3-0 and 3-1 defeats, supporting all three selections.

The Shanghai puck line is the more aggressive play because each of their four victories has come by one goal. However, the case rests heavily on Sochi’s losing margins. Six of their seven defeats have come by at least two goals, including every away game.

  • Sochi have stayed under 2.5 team goals in seven of eight matches.
  • All four Sochi away defeats have come by at least two goals.
  • Sochi have conceded first in seven of eight games and every away fixture.
  • Shanghai have scored first and conceded no more than two goals in both home games.

Shanghai Dragons Form

Shanghai improved to 4-2 with a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Minsk, recording consecutive wins for the first time this season. They previously defeated Avtomobilist 3-2 in their opening home fixture.

Jaskin has produced four goals and one assist during a four-game points streak. The experienced forward opened the scoring against Minsk, while Solovyov collected his fourth point in three appearances by adding the second goal.

Pavel Khomchenko was only 12 seconds away from securing a shutout against Minsk. Shanghai were placed under pressure during the third period, but their defensive structure protected the lead and delivered a second straight regulation victory.

The Dragons have also converted four of their first 15 power-play opportunities. That 26.7% success rate provides another potential route to an early advantage against a Sochi side that has spent most of the season chasing games.

Sochi Form

Sochi have lost three consecutive matches against Sibir, Torpedo and Severstal, scoring only twice during that stretch. They sit at 1-7 overall, with their only victory coming in a surprising 3-2 result against Ak Bars.

Their latest performance was more competitive than the 3-1 defeat suggests. Sochi matched Severstal with 29 shots on goal and received four power-play opportunities, but Timur Akhiyarov produced their only goal.

Denis Vengryzhanovsky remains Sochi’s leading scorer with four goals in eight appearances. The problem is the lack of support around him, with the team averaging fewer than one goal per game and suffering three shutout defeats.
