Ireland are tipped to cover the -8.5 handicap against Argentina in their Nations Championship clash in Dublin. Ireland have won six of their last seven matches and have never lost at home to Argentina, with five wins in their last six home games. Argentina, by contrast, have lost three of their last four fixtures and four consecutive away games against Ireland. The Irish also finished second in the 2026 Six Nations and currently sit fourth in the Northern Hemisphere table, while Argentina have shown inconsistent form in 2026.

Ireland hold Advantage, Never lost in Dublin to Arg

Ireland hold a 14-6 lead over Argentina in 20 meetings.

Ireland in Strong Form

Ireland edged Australia 33-31 in their Nations Championship opener and defeated Japan 36-20 before losing 40-21 to New Zealand at Eden Park.

The Irish are fourth in the Northern Hemisphere table with ten points from three matches.

Earlier this year, Ireland performed well at the 2026 Six Nations Championship, finishing second overall. They lost 36-14 to France before defeating Italy 20-13, England 42-21, Wales 27-17, and Scotland 43-21 to secure the Triple Crown.

Ireland have been in solid form lately, winning six of their last seven fixtures, and have often defeated Argentina at home, with four consecutive victories against the side from South America.

Argentina Inconsistent 2026

Argentina lost to Scotland 47-38 in their opening Nations Championship match but bounced back with a 35-21 victory over Wales before losing 31-24 to England.

Los Pumas are fourth in the Southern Hemisphere standings with seven points after three rounds.

In August, Argentina had no answer in their matches against South Africa and Australia. They lost 17-10 to the Springboks before losing 27-21 and drawing 28-28 with the Wallabies, respectively.

Argentina have not had the best run of results recently, losing three of their last four fixtures, and will have to perform well against Ireland in their own backyard, as their opponents have won five of their previous six home games.
