The Adelaide 36ers host the Illawarra Hawks with three main tips: Bryce Cotton to score 30+ points, Makur Maker for 20+ points, and over 49.5 points in the first quarter. Cotton is in outstanding form, averaging 32.5 points over his last four games, while Maker has scored 20 or more in three of his last four. Illawarra's defence is a key factor, conceding a league-high 103.7 points per game, which supports predictions for a high-scoring contest and strong individual performances.

Adelaide 36ers vs Illawarra Hawks Verdict

The in-form Bryce Cotton and Makur Maker are both backed in the points markets in a game that is also predicted to surpass the first quarter points total over over 49.5 points.

  • Bryce Cotton has averaged 32.5 points across his last four matches, scoring 30+ in three.
  • Makur Maker has scored 20+ points in three of his last four games.
  • Three of Adelaide's last four first quarters have produced over 49.5 points.
  • Illawarra concede a league-high 103.7 points per game.

Head to Head

Illawarra have won the last two meetings, including a 114-92 victory in October, while Adelaide won the previous four encounters.

Adelaide 36ers Form

Adelaide have endured an inconsistent start to the NBL27 season, winning four of their opening 11 matches. Their home form has been particularly disappointing, with just one victory from four games.

Cotton continues to carry much of the offensive responsibility, averaging a league-leading 27.7 points per game. His recent form has been even more impressive, averaging 32.5 points across his last four appearances.

The 36ers average 91.0 points per game, ranking ninth in the competition, although their ball movement has been a positive. Adelaide rank second in assists at 22.0 per game and have been competitive defensively, conceding 93.7 points per contest.

One of the more remarkable statistics from the previous meeting was Cotton attempting just four field goals in 30 minutes. It was an unusually quiet performance from Adelaide's leading scorer, and the 36ers will be looking to get him far more involved offensively this time around.

Illawarra Hawks Form

Illawarra have struggled for consistency this season, sitting at 4-8 despite winning their last two matches. Their latest victory came against Cairns, continuing a recent improvement in results.

The Hawks average 97.0 points per game, ranking second in the NBL, and have shown they can produce big offensive performances. However, their defence remains a major concern, conceding 103.7 points per game, the worst record in the competition.

Maker has emerged as an important scoring option, reaching 20+ points in three of his last four games. He missed the previous meeting with Adelaide, and his availability gives Illawarra another attacking weapon.

Verdict

Bryce Cotton is backed for 30+ points, Makur Maker for 20+ points and Over 49.5 first-quarter points.
