PAOK caused a big upset against Panathinaikos in the Greek Super Cup semifinals, beating the Athens side 84-82 thanks to game-winning shots made by Cedi Osman, who scored 18 points and had six assists.
The Double-Headed Eagles couldn't take another scalp, though, losing 101-96 to Olympiakos in the final. Their shooting was at 52% here (14 out of 17 on two-pointers), with Marcus Forest being the top scorer with 18 points.
PAOK had almost perfect results in the preseason, earning four straight victories against Udine 89-71, Basket Napoli 100-74, Milano 89-77 and Partizan 100-99 before losing to Panathinaikos 87-81 in the final test.
Manresa Facing a Difficult Start to the Season
Manresa have experience when it comes to playing in the EuroCup, winning 11 matches in the regular season in the previous campaign and making it to the Round of 16.
They had mixed results in preseason friendlies earlier in September, registering defeats to Lleida 103-99 and Barcelona 90-77, while beating Joventut 84-78 and MoraBanc Andorra 83-74.
Manresa's first competitive match this season was last weekend against Bilbao, suffering a 107-92 defeat on the road. Their shooting was more than decent at almost 53%, with Nick Ongenda leading the way with 17 points.
