After being upset at home by the South East Melbourne Phoenix, the Perth Wildcats are favored to bounce back in their NBL matchup. The Wildcats have shown impressive form, winning two consecutive games after their opening loss, largely thanks to Dylan Windler’s scoring surge and Kristian Doolittle’s rebounding consistency. Conversely, SEM have struggled with back-to-back losses despite a strong start. The key recommendation: back Perth to win, Windler for 15+ points, and Doolittle for 7+ rebounds.

Perth Wildcats vs South East Melbourne Phoenix Verdict

  • Perth have won two straight games since their opening loss to SEM.
  • Dylan Windler has scored 16 and 26 points across his past two games.
  • Kristian Doolittle has recorded 6, 8 and 5 rebounds through Perth's opening three games.

Head to Head

South East Melbourne have won three of the last five meetings, while four of those five games have finished below the closing total.

Perth Wildcats Form

Perth have recovered strongly from their 100-79 opening loss, winning their next two games to move to 2-1. They edged Adelaide 98-97 before coming from behind to beat New Zealand 97-93.

The Wildcats trailed by as many as 11 against the Breakers and lost Jo Lual-Acuil Jr to a calf injury during the first quarter, but still found a way to win. Perth have now scored 98 and 97 points in their two victories after managing only 79 in Round 1.

Dylan Windler has been one of the biggest reasons for the improvement, bouncing back from two points in the opener with 16 against Adelaide and 26 against New Zealand.

Kristian Doolittle has continued to fill up the box score, while Elijah Pepper has also taken on a significant role in Perth's offence.

South East Melbourne Phoenix Form

South East Melbourne started the season in style with a 100-79 win over Perth, with Tanner Krebs scoring 25 points and Dash Daniels producing 24 points and 12 rebounds.

The Phoenix haven't been able to build on that performance. They surrendered a second-half lead in a 96-91 loss to Tasmania before suffering an 86-61 defeat against Melbourne United, dropping to 1-2 for the season.

Nathan Sobey has returned after missing the opening game, while Skylar Mays, Daniels, Krebs and Angus Glover give the Phoenix plenty of scoring options.

The concern has been consistency, with SEM going from scoring 100 in Round 1 to just 61 against United.
