China Had Strong Group Stage Finish
China had a couple of solid sequences in the first match against the United States but suffered a heavy 94-61 loss, landing just 20 out of 62 field goal attempts.
The Asian side were in big trouble against underdogs Czech Republic, trailing by five points ahead of the final quarter, but managed to force overtime and take a 74-70 victory to secure the playoffs. Han Xu was the standout performer with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
China's defense was on another level in their round three clash against heavy favorites Italy, claiming a convincing 71-51 victory. Han Xu had another great match with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
