Seattle's Losing Run Continues
Seattle Storm are enduring a disastrous WNBA campaign, arguably their worst in the last decade, sitting bottom of the standings with a 6-25 record.
Their last victory came in early July when they defeated the Los Angeles Sparks 82-64 on the road, but they have since suffered eight consecutive defeats.
Seattle struggled at home against the Indiana Fever, losing 105-95 after a disastrous opening quarter, which they dropped 37-20. Natisha Hiedeman delivered an outstanding performance with 33 points on 11-of-20 shooting but received little support.
There were signs of improvement against Atlanta Dream last weekend, but the Storm still fell 98-89 in Georgia. A poor first half proved costly once again as they trailed by 14 points at the break.
Hosts in Great Shape
New York Liberty have picked up several important victories recently to climb to fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 17-13 record.
Their three-game winning streak began on 21st July with a dramatic 99-98 overtime victory over the Dallas Wings, followed by narrow wins against the Chicago Sky (95-94) and Los Angeles Sparks (113-109).
The Liberty narrowly missed out on a fourth straight win when they lost 104-99 to reigning champions Las Vegas Aces, but they bounced back immediately with a 94-92 road victory over the Phoenix Mercury. Sabrina Ionescu starred with 27 points and 10 assists.
