Dalton Smith (19-0, 14 KOs) makes his first defence of the WBC super-lightweight title when he takes on Alberto Puello (25-1, 11 KOs) at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, England on Saturday, October 24.
The fight can be exclusively seen globally in over 200 countries on DAZN.
Smith is fighting in his hometown for the first time since becoming world champion back in January.
The 29-year-old Yorkshireman travelled to New York to challenge for the WBC super-lightweight crown, and made it a successful trip as he knocked out Subriel Matias in the fifth round to become world champion for the first time.
He now returns home to make his first defence of the title, but looking to ruin Dalton’s homecoming is former two-time world champion Puello.
The 32-year-old Dominican held this WBC title as recently as July of last year, when he was beaten by Matias by majority decision.
Puello rebounded in July with a fourth-round stoppage of Miguel Angel Bolano, but can he now follow that up by regaining the WBC belt, or will Smith hear the words “and still” at the end of his maiden outing as champion?
You can see for yourself thanks to DAZN’s global live streaming service, which is broadcasting the fight live from Sheffield.
