Moses Itauma Boasts Perfect 14-0 Record

Moses Itauma goes into this world heavyweight title fight boasting a perfect 14-0 (12 KOs) record in the professional ranks.

Itauma made his pro debut three-and-a-half years ago, and he has been on a tear ever since 23-second demolition of Marcel Bode.

He claimed his first minor title in May 2024 when he knocked out Ilja Mezencev in the second round to claim the WBO inter-continental heavyweight belt.

The 21-year-old made quick work of his first defence as he recorded a second-round knockout of Mariusz Wach, who recently fought Tyson Fury in an exhibition bout.

Itauma then added the WBA international and Commonwealth silver titles with a 117-second stoppage of Demsey Kean, capping off a highly successful 2024 that catapulted him up the heavyweight ladder.

He began 2025 with a second-round knockout of Mike Balogun, and then followed that up with a first-round knockout of former world title contender Dillian Whyte.

Then, in his first fight of 2026, he knocked out Jermain Franklin in the fifth round, securing this fight with Hrgovic for the vacant IBF championship.

Filip Hrgovic Has 20 Wins In 21 Professional Fights

Filip Hrgovic is a former world heavyweight title contender with a professional record of 20-1 (15 KOs).

Hrgovic entered the professional ranks in September 2017, following a successful amateur career that saw him win Olympic bronze, and he wasted little time climbing the ladder.

The 34-year-old Croatian won the WBC international title in only his sixth professional outing – knocking out Amir Mansour in the third round – and he went on to make several successful defences.

The last of those was a third-round knockout of Eric Molina in December 2019, and in November 2020 he came the IBF international champion thanks to a fifth-round stoppage of Rydell Booker.

Hrgovic retained that belt with a third-round stoppage of Emir Ahmatovic, but that would prove to be his final fight for that title.

He stepped up his pursuit of a world title fight with a unanimous decision win over Zhilei Zhang, and following that up with a 12th round stoppage of Demsey McKean and a 106-second knockout of Mark de Mori.

That earned him a fight for the interim IBF title in June 2024, but the Croatian came up short on the night as he was stopped in the eighth round by Daniel Dubois.

Hrgovic has not lost since though, following up unanimous decision wins over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye with a third-round knockout of David Allen in May.

Verdict

Anything can happen in heavyweight boxing, but we are not expecting a shock outcome here.

Itauma’s brutal punching power is likely to overwhelm Filip Hrgovic, resulting in a knockout in the first half of the fight.
