The Outlaws beat Somerset by four wickets in their Metro Bank One-Day Cup opener at the John Fretwell Sports Complex in Nettleworth. Chasing Somerset’s total of 258/9, Notts reached 259/6 with 32 balls to spare, powered by half-centuries from captain Haseeb Hameed (66) and Freddie McCann (70).

Joe Pocklington (3/28) and James Hayes (2/37) were the standout bowlers.

Nottinghamshire finished fifth in Group A in the 2025 One-Day Cup with three wins, four defeats and one tie, falling short of advancing to the knockout stages.

Warwickshire Lost their Opener


Warwickshire lost to Northants by five wickets in their opening One-Day Cup match at the County Ground in Northampton. The Bears set a strong target of 312/9 in their 50 overs, built around innings from Sam Hain (80 runs off 86 balls) and Theo Wylie with 65 runs off 88 balls.

The Bears were unable to contain the Northants batters, who scored 314/5 with eight balls to spare. Tazeem Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 2/52.

The Bears finished fourth in Group B during the 2025 Metro Bank One-Day Cup. They achieved a record of five wins and three losses, while they narrowly missed qualifying for the knockout stages. The Bears needed a win against Essex to stay in the qualification hunt, but fell 21 runs short on the Duckworth-Lewis method, which knocked them out.

Beau Webster has scores of 23, 78, 47, 60, and 79 in his last six innings, while Tazeem Ali has taken six wickets in his last four matches.
