Gary Anderson, the two-time PDC World Darts Champion, faces a challenging quarter-final match against underdog Justin Hood. Despite Hood's recent ascendancy and victory over Anderson earlier this year, Anderson's current form gives him an edge. The article suggests Anderson could leverage his experience to secure a win with a -1.5 handicap, while the match is expected to showcase over 20.5 total 180s. Fans can stream this anticipated face-off between the seasoned Anderson and rising cult-favorite Hood via the PDC World Championships Live Stream page.

Head To Head

Gary Anderson and Justin Hood have met once before in the PDC, with Hood claiming a 6-2 victory over his opponent in a floor event back in June of this year.

Gary Anderson Form

After a couple of mediocre trips to the Ally Pally in recent years, Gary Anderson has rolled back the years with a sensational run to his tenth quarter-finals.

"The Flying Scotsman" got a bit riled up during a 3-2 win over Adam Hunt in Round 1. Anderson then took care of Connor Scutt, and came through a final-set decider in a thriller against Jermaine Wattimena, ending the match with a 102 average.

In what was expected to be a tight contest between two multiple World Champions, Gary Anderson claimed an easy 4-1 win over Michael van Gerwen to book his place in the last eight. Both players averaged well over 100 before the quality dipped in the final set of that contest, but a comfortable win over one of his main rivals is sure to give Anderson confidence ahead of this potential banana skin.

Justin Hood Form

Where has Justin Hood come from? "Happy Feet" was a relative unknown coming into this year's World Championships, but some sensational darts and hilarious on-stage antics have established Hood as a cult-favourite with the Ally Pally faithful.

I was fully expecting Josh Rock to do a job on the world number 86 in Round 4. Not a bit of it. Justin Hood played out of his skin, hitting 10 180s and 75% of his darts at a double to record an incredible 4-0 success.

Hood showed plenty of bottle and talent to come through a final set decider with Danny Noppert in Round 2, in what many have dubbed the match of the tournament so far. "Happy Feet" has proven himself a match for the best players in the world, and I can't see his performance level dipping on Thursday.

Verdict

When speaking to the press following his win over Michael van Gerwen, GARY ANDERSON seemed fully aware of just how good a player Justin Hood is. "Happy Feet" thrashed Anderson when they met on the floor in June, and his performance against Josh Rock was of the highest calibre possible.

Anderson himself has been throwing some excellent darts during this tournament. Yes, the final set against "MVG" turned a little farcical, as neither player seemed capable of hitting a double of a while. However, "The Flying Scotsman" played brilliantly during the first four sets of that contest, showing the sort of form that helped him claim back-to-back World Championship wins a decade ago.

If he starts well, Anderson is capable of running away with matches, so I'll be backing him to win with a -1.5 Handicap to boost the odds. Hood leads Anderson by one in the race for the Ballon d'Art (Most 180s) too, so backing over 20.5 Total 180s in the match seems like a sensible punt.
