100 Thieves Need a Bounce-Back
100 Thieves entered VALORANT Champions as the team to beat, having recently won VCT 2026 Americas Stage 2 and the Esports World Cup. However, while they’ve had an explosive start to the tournament, topping Group A with wins over T1 and FUT Esports, 100 Thieves couldn't get past G2 Esports in the quarterfinals.
The VCT Americas derby, which not long ago ended in 100T’s favour, finished the other way around on Thursday, as 100 Thieves failed to keep up with their regional rivals. G2 took the series lead 13-5 on Abyss, then edged past 100 Thieves on Ascent, 13-11, to push the tournament favourites into the lower bracket.
Even though it was not an optimal start to the playoffs for 100 Thieves, the loss to the high-flying G2 Esports does not take away from how good 100T have looked of late. They have the tools to make a lower bracket run.

Team Vitality won the opening map 13-8. Nongshim RedForce struck back with 13-4 on Abyss, but they ran out of steam on Haven and lost in overtime 12-14.
It was not the most convincing performance from Nongshim RedForce, especially in the second half on Haven, where they managed only five rounds, losing all of the lead they’d gained in the first half (4-7).
