G2 Esports vs 100 Thieves Tips – G2 and 100T Start Their VCT Americas Stage 2 Campaign
G2 Esports and 100 Thieves clash in the opening match of VCT Americas Stage 2 on July 18. While G2 have a strong head-to-head record this season, they are struggling in the current meta, with unresolved role issues. In contrast, 100 Thieves are fresh from winning the Esports World Cup, signaling strong momentum and meta adaptation. However, recent travel and a packed schedule could result in fatigue for 100T, possibly impacting their performance. Key recommendation: 100T's current form gives them an edge, but fatigue remains a factor.

100 Thieves enter Stage 2 fresh off a title-winning run at the Esports World Cup, which put them under the spotlight as dangerous outsiders to make a run for the VCT trophy.
Meanwhile, G2 Esports are widely considered as VCT Americas’ top team, having dominated the league this season, and will be expected to make another deep run.
100 Thieves have proven they can dance with the world’s elite at the EWC, but it will be interesting to see whether they can translate some of that to the regional league, where they’ve yet to find much success.
- G2 Esports have beaten 100 Thieves twice this season
- 100 Thieves have recently won the Esports World Cup
- Fatigue could play a factor for 100T

G2 Esports Looking to Bounce Back
G2 Esports won VCT Americas Stage 1, and have since placed seventh-eighth in VALORANT Masters London and ninth-12th at the Esports World Cup. Not the best showing for G2’s standards, especially after their strong start to the season.
It is fair to feel worried about G2 Esports, who have not looked good in the current meta. Since Stage 1, they’ve looked progressively worse, and even after the Masters, London and EWC, they’ve yet to find any momentum.
A big issue with G2 seems to be their roles, as they’ve yet to figure out what role to give to which player. And until they show some improvement in that department, it is fair to feel worried about G2 Esports.

100 Thieves Have Momentum On Thier Side
100 Thieves turned many heads with their title run at the Esports World Cup 2026, thus building on the success they accomplished in VCT Americas Stage 1, where 100T placed fourth.
While 100T’s run at the EWC - where they bested BBL Esports, Rex Regum Qeon, MIBR, Nongshim RedForce, and NRG - is impressive, it could also work against them. 100T played their last match of the EWC on July 12, meaning they’ve had less than a week to travel back home and prepare for VCT Americas Stage 2.
The packed schedule and long travel will introduce fatigue, as it has for all other teams who made a deep run in the EWC, and consequently likely a worse showing early into Stage 2.

Verdict
100 Thieves will likely be fatigued for this match, as they’ve only recently finished their Esports World Cup campaign. However, at the EWC, and even before that, in Stage 1, 100 Thieves have shown good things.
Their run to the EWC title also proves that 100T are comfortable in the current meta, which is something that can’t be said about G2, who’ve looked progressively worse since Stage 1.
Their run to the EWC title also proves that 100T are comfortable in the current meta, which is something that can’t be said about G2, who’ve looked progressively worse since Stage 1.
Admittedly, 100T’s fatigue plays a factor, but they’ve shown better form and better understanding of the meta.
