NRG Enter Stage 2 With Some Momentum
NRG have been the most consistent team of the season, with a bronze medal from VCT Americas Kickoff, Stage 1, and Masters Santiago, as well as a silver medal from the Esports World Cup.
Considering NRG attended the Esports World Cup and made a run to the finals, they haven’t had much time to prepare for Stage 2, and will likely be fatigued, resulting in slightly worse showings early into the stage.
On paper, NRG are one of the region’s top squads, but with a packed schedule behind them, some shakier performances are to be expected.

MIBR Are No Pushovers
MIBR have not been doing too poorly this season. They placed fourth in the Kickoff event, fifth-sixth in Stage 1, and they have recently reached the quarterfinals of the Esports World Cup, where MIBR lost to the eventual champions, 100 Thieves.
Domestically, MIBR have been a highly competitive team, but they’ve yet to break into the elite few, having consistently struggled to chase top spots. This trend could continue here, but there is no denying that MIBR have a bite and they can challenge anyone in VCT Americas.

Verdict
NRG are viewed as favourites for this match, which, given their past success in VCT Americas and international events, makes sense. Admittedly, MIBR are no pushovers, and they’ve before caused issues to VCT Americas’s top dogs, including Leviatan and G2 Esports.
However, MIBR have yet to prove they can do that consistently, so it is fair to feel slightly worried about their chances to stop the in-form NRG.
