Paper Rex delivered in the first round of Group C and handled Team Liquid 2-1. It was not a perfect game from Paper Rex, but they showed up and won with 13-4 on Ascent, 7-13 on Haven, and 13-10 on Lotus.
Something was the start of the show on the day, posting the server’s highest 1.38 performance rating, well ahead of PR’s second-best player, d4v41, who posted 1.05.
Paper Rex showed some cracks in that game, but they had to play a fairly strong team, so they deserve some slack for not sweeping. It was also Paper Rex’s first game in nearly a month, so now that they’ve shaken off some of the rust, PR will be expected to live up to expectations and make it through the group stage.
