The big question is whether Cloud9 can repeat that.

Cloud9 have looked good in LCS Summer Playoffs. They kicked off the knockout stage with a win against Shopify Rebellion (3-0), and in the upper bracket final, they added a huge 3-1 victory against LYON.
It was an interesting game in which Cloud9 showcased a different style of play, not relying on early snowball. Instead, Cloud9 took a more relaxed approach and focused more on the mid-to-late game, slowly grinding LYON down.
Overall, a very promising display from Cloud9, despite being a much different look to what they’ve shown earlier in the season. More notably, Cloud9 proved they can perform under pressure, which is not exactly something they’ve become known for, and it should give hope that Cloud9 can step it up on Sunday.

Team Liquid enter the LCS Summer upper bracket finals as a team to watch. They had a great run through the regular season and have, despite the one map loss to Shopify Rebellion and the series against LYON, looked incredibly dominant.
Liquid have been very consistent and were essentially unstoppable against any team not named LYON. Even in the upper bracket semifinal, Liquid showed no signs of slowing down and swept FlyQuest 3-0.
Given Liquid’s dominance, it is fair to expect them to make a run for the trophy. However, considering how good Cloud9 have been of late, this match becomes a lot more interesting and not as straightforward as it may have seemed before the playoffs began.

With Cloud9 showing improvement lately, it is becoming easier to believe that they can do some damage on Sunday. Admittedly, Liquid are still the best team in the LCS, and they’ve given us no reasons to believe that they can’t win. But at the same time, if C9 continue to let their wheels spin, there’s a world they can push Liquid to their limits.
