Gen.G vs T1 Betting Tips – Korean Juggernauts Clash in LCK Rounds 1-2

Gen.G and T1 are set to clash in the LCK 2026, with Gen.G slightly favored thanks to their 1-0 head-to-head lead and past performance. However, both teams have shown significant improvement in recent matches. While Gen.G has the side selection advantage, both squads are prone to mistakes, making this matchup less clear-cut than the odds suggest. Ultimately, the victory may come down to which team minimizes unforced errors, making T1 an enticing underdog pick.

Gen.G vs T1 Betting Predictions

Gen.G and T1 will clash on Saturday, May 16, in the seventh week of League of Legends Champions Korea 2026 Rounds 1-2, for the first time since April 8, when Gen.G swept their regional rivals.
For the rematch, Gen.G are again favoured, which comes as no surprise as they’ve had T1’s number during the regular season over the last couple of seasons.

But despite what the past results might suggest, T1 have been improving rapidly, and their more recent results indicate they are in great shape.

The same can be said for Gen.G, who, after a tough start to the split, have started to show signs of life. Both teams, however, are still prone to making some mistakes, and neither is playing at 100%. So, while Gen.G might appear like the obvious favourites, T1 definitely have the tools to cause an upset.

  • Both teams are improving
  • Gen.G are favoured
  • This can be anyone’s game

Gen.G are Up in Head-to-Head

Gen.G and T1 met only once before this season, in the second week of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2, when Gen.G won.

Gen.G Are Back in Shape

Gen.G picked up their 10th victory of the split on Thursday when they defeated BNK FEARX. Despite what the 2-0 score would suggest, it was a relatively competitive game. This, however, is more indicative of BNK FEARX’s strength than Gen.G’s weaknesses.

Looking back at Gen.G’s other victors, not many were pretty, but they have been getting it done, which counts for something. Even in the game against FEARX, Gen.G have found themselves in sketchy positions, yet still came out ahead, granted only because FEARX were unable to take full advantage of their situation.

Not a bad team, far from it. But Gen.G are not as explosive as they were in the LCK Cup.

Gen.G Squad & Team News

No changes for Gen.G LoL roster.

  • Kim "Kiin" Ki-in - top lane
  • Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu - jungle
  • Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon - mid lane
  • Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk - ADC
  • Joo "Duro" Min-kyu – support

T1 Are Playing Much Better

T1 have looked somewhat rough early into the split, but have recently found their form, showing more consistent performances, better execution, decision-making and all the important things.

Things haven’t been perfect, but T1 have handled DN SOOPers, Dpluis KIA, and Nongshim RedForce in their last three outings, which is worth something – even though beating DNS and RedForce is not exactly an accomplishment.

Yet even before that run, T1 played well against Hanwha Life, BNK FEARX, BRION, and Kiwoom DRX.

Individually, T1’s players are in solid shape, and their mid-late game is not bad either. In their last outing, T1 had a minor hiccup on the second map, but they recovered quickly. All in all, T1 are on the right path.

T1 Squad & Team News

No changes for T1.

  • Choi "Doran" Hyeon-jun - top lane
  • Mun "Oner" Hyeon-jun - jungle
  • Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok - mid lane
  • Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan - ADC
  • Ryu "Keria" Min-seok – support

Verdict

T1 and Gen.G have been improving of late, and while neither team is playing at their best yet, they’re both on the right path.

To no one’s surprise, Gen.G are favoured to win on Saturday. They’ve had T1’s number over the last couple of seasons, are 1-0 up in H2H this season, and will have side choice for this match. On the other side, Gen.G are still prone to making mistakes – much like T1 – so I would consider this game much closer to a coin flip than what the odds suggest.

The end result will come down to which team makes fewer unforced errors, and while Gen.G should be in a better spot purely due to the side selection, T1 as outsiders are an inviting pick.
