Karmine Corp Are In Good Form
Karmine Corp have had quite a rollercoaster of a season. They were terrible early into the season, finishing EMEA Kickoff and Stage 1 in ninth-10th and 11th-12th place. Even their run at the Esports World Cup, which ended in a ninth-12th place finish, didn't inspire much confidence.
But then Karmine Corp turned on a switch and went on a run in EMEA Stage 2, winning the stage without any major issues. They played their best VALORANT of the season over the last month and are rightly viewed as Europe’s best team.
Given their sudden resurgence, it is fair to question whether KC’s run to the EMEA Stage 2 title was a fluke. But even if they do not look as dominant, the raw quality on this roster should be enough for a deep run.

XLG Esports Struggle Internationally
XLG Esports have been very good domestically this season, with silver medals from VCT China Kickoff and Stage 1.
They, however, weren’t as successful in Stage 2, which they finished in fifth-sixth place. In their defence, XLG did not need to make it much further than that to qualify for VALORANT Champions, but a stronger showing in Stage 2 would help inspire more confidence.
The major issue with XLG this season has been their poor performances on international stages. They placed 11th-12th in Masters Santiago, fifth-sixth in London, and 13th-16th at the Esports World Cup.
Namely, Rarga and happywei have both been excellent domestically, but less impressive when faced with international opponents, and this trend makes it hard to sell XLG Esports as serious candidates to disrupt the balance of power at VALORANT Champions.

XLG Esports haven’t been bad this season. In fact, they have proven to be one of the best Chinese VALORANT teams. Yet all that hasn’t helped them accomplish much in big events, as XLG have struggled to look as potent on international stages.
